How to Install Ubuntu 23.04 in VirtualBox on a Mac (2023 Tutorial)

Here is how to install the latest version of Ubuntu, 23.04, in VirtualBox on your Mac! This will also be very similar if you are on a Windows host machine. Below are links for VirtualBox and Ubuntu. At 9:52 after I enter on try on install Linux it doesn't open Ubuntu loading screen. Instead it pops up a dialogue box saying "A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has been stopped."

That's because, Your mac is a M series ( ARM based) and Virtual Box as well as Ubuntu won't support. I guess... Even I am facing the same issue. :(

@@aditya8710 via parallels desktop. Ubuntu runs natively I guess . I am not using it now though… but try this method.

@@aditya8710 There's a test/development version of VirtualBox on their website that supports Apple's M1 and M2 chips (called Apple Silicon). The "official" version of VirtualBox does not yet support the M1 and M2 chips. I got VirtualBox working on my M2 Mac by using the appropriate test/development version of VirtualBox.

The first step says to doubleclick on an icon called VirtualBox.pkg. but once I click on it I get the message from the beginning of my comment. I am on a MacBook Pro 18-inch for reference.

It's a X-86 based architecture i guess. Virtual Box has dropped it's project for silicon based Macs.. I guess
