Just discovered your video as I am about to install a CAK 236 tank as a waste tank. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what gauge you used to monitor the levels. Any that I have looked at come with different sensors.

Hi, the level indicators came together with and are part of the Sargent Controller that I used for the electrics, hope this helps

Thanks for the video. Not sure I’d have put the screws through the 4” access hole as isn’t that just a potential leak point? The sikaflex should hold it fine. I do question though wether you’d ever clean it via the hole as unless you took it off the van I’d think it would be virtually impossible to clean it properly anyway. I have the same decision going on at the moment. Thanks, very helpful.

In an ideal world there should only be soapy water going into the tank but you will always get small food particles, grease, hair from the shower hand basin etc which needs to be cleaned out, The access hole gives the option to clean it, impossible without, I will be using a power washer with a lance to clean it and you can always drop the tank if necessary, After I had installed the hatch I had the same thought about whether the screws were necessary, the sealant sealed them fine

@@thatdamnmackem thanks. Maybe I’ll put them in just in case. Easier to do it now than later. Think you did the right thing with sikaflex. I saw someone used stickslike which I really wouldn’t recommend myself. I do have regular plumbers plastic pipe glue and wondered if that actually might be the best product ?

@@russellscott1151 some plumbers glues melt the plastic to bond the surfaces whereas the sika creates a sandwich if that makes sense, I prefer something with a bit of give to compensate for the all the movement everything gets, and the sika fills any gaps

Hi did you fit a breather pipe on the water tank

The tanks have two small breather holes build into the top panel of each tank

I’ve insulated my tank and refitted it and covered the vents then have you any idea where abouts the vents are on the top to save me taking it off thank very much for 6our help Ray

Did you have any problems with water freezing in Winter? I was planning to install my fresh water tank inside my van for this reason.

Haven't used it yet, still building, will be draining the system for winter not planning on winter use

where did you get the 30cm J bolts from?

Wouldn't mind to see actual fitting drilling not the end result observation. Bit disappointed.

I didn't include any fitting drilling because there isn't any, the J bolts simply hang on the solts already cut in the cross members and the tank hangs in the brackets which hang on the J bolts, not that hard to work out really
