How to install Unifi Network Application Controller on Proxmox

You would need to find the error first. Try to look at the logs: Container-specific logs: For each LXC container, Proxmox maintains logs about its operations. You can find these logs at: ``` /var/log/pve/lxc/{container-id}.log ``` Replace {container-id} with the actual ID of your LXC container. Syslog: The system's general log (/var/log/syslog) may contain messages related to LXC operations, especially if there's an error or issue. dmesg: The kernel ring buffer, which can be accessed using the dmesg command, might also have messages related to LXC, especially if there are kernel-level issues or messages.

Do you get access to the security monitoring features you get on the dream machine?

Running the UniFi Network Application on Proxmox LXC gives you access to most network management features, but security features like IDS/IPS and threat management are not available without dedicated hardware like the UniFi Dream Machine (UDM) or UniFi Security Gateway (USG). For full security functionality, using UniFi hardware is recommended.

i have been operating my unifi with an existing controller until now. i then installed the unifi using your tutorial on proxmox but then had to reintegrate everything. How can I connect or update the old controller to the proxmox VM without having to re-adopt everything?

Have you updated your Proxmox? Updating Proxmox via the UI is straightforward: 1. Log into the Proxmox web interface. 2. In the left pane, select the node you want to update. 3. Go to the "Updates" tab. 4. Click on the "Refresh" button to get the latest package information. 5. Once the refresh is complete, you'll see a list of available updates. Click on the "Upgrade" button to start the updating process. It's always a good practice to backup your data and configurations before performing any updates.

what unifi version can support uap lr? in windows I stay at version 5.1.xx. can I choose old version in vm like this?

This is from the forums: Gen 1 UAPs still work with v7. The only exception is the APs that were EOL'd and stopped support after 5.6 (UAP-AC, UAP-ACv2 and UAP-AC-Outdoor). Moved way to fast. You did the default install, but did not cover any of "what VMBR##" you should connect it to (what if you have more than one NIC?). For example, I have pfSense on my PXE, with a 4-port ETH card (WAN uses port 3, and LAN is a bridge of 0, 1 & 2). I caught some things, but all the ZOOM IN > ZOOM OUT makes one motion sick (imho) Still somewhat helpful...could have been better. Would have been much more helpful if you had explained why you chose what you did in the UniFi setup.
