Spent 2 days trying to install just one plank, after my friends got me started. For two days I tried and tried just ONE PLANK, watching many videos, trying different angels, using a different plank, changing the angle of the mallet. I just wanna take all the planks and toss them on the grass and light them on fire. This exposed my lack of patience and lack of skills, but I did remove all my floors and baseboards with zero help. Sometimes, u gotta know when to say when. And if it’s taking me two days with zero progress, it just means the rest of the floors will be off…hire a professional contractor or this guy in the video when it doesn’t feel aligned…and don’t bring down the value of your floors…props to all the peeps who can do this.

I have vinyl plank flooring throughout my house. I love it! It's the easiest type of flooring to install. It gives the appearance of wood flooring without the expense. Plus, it's waterproof, unlike real wood flooring. For future reference, the side of the plank that you called the "tongue" is called the "groove" and the side you called "flat" is the tongue. You do such a good job with your camera work and instructions. Very professional.
@TheExcellentLaborer7 ай бұрын
It is really nice stuff I agree! When I saw hardwood floor, it’s called the tongue and groove side. That makes sense in this case. It is not the exact same as hardwood floor. Thanks for letting the audience know. Good luck with your project!

How do you feel about laying LVP over a laminate floor ? Laminate is good shape, just wanna go with something else..
@chengfuhang51583 ай бұрын
Im not planning to remove my baseboard trim before installing my lvp. However, the baseboard trims are installed high enough off the ground to where i can easily slide the lvp under if needed. To account for expansion, I plan to just lay the lvp edge flush to where the baseboard ends so there'll be atleast 1/4-1/2 of space to the drywall. Ill cover this up after with shoe moulding. Would this method work fine if i prefer to not remove the baseboard trim?

Hey- question on drywall gaps at floor level. I have 2 walls with a drywall gap of 1/2” and depth of 3/4” if you push the LVP into it. Wondering if I should put something in the gap? Thinking over time if I don’t flooring will move into the gap causing problems. Thoughts?

Why not a moisture barrier used?
@rcrespo495 ай бұрын
The floor Planks have it already attached on these planks - That's the black surface underneath the planks that you see in the beginning. Some planks don't have it and that's when you need to provide a moisture barrier.

That’s what I thought but I asked a flooring community on Facebook and everyone (15+) said it still need the moisture barrier in addition to the Lifeproof barrier.

I love vinyl plank flooring, ive installed alot of it, and please no one ever buy "waterproof" laminate flooring, absolute garbage and pain to install, and will definitley fail in time. If your gonna buy "fake" flooring why would anyone consider laminate over vinyl plank? Basically the same price, it actually is waterproof, stronger, and doesn't expand and contract in different seasons anywhere ( tested as only 1/4 of how much laminate does so basically none) as much as sawdust made products lol. No brainer.....
@TheExcellentLaborer7 ай бұрын
I agree with you! I’m not a fan of laminate flooring at all. It’s not near as tough nor does it with stand water as well as luxury vinyl. I agree with you it is a no-brainer!
