How to install VTS on a Sea-Doo Spark - Presented by PWC Muscle

Just did this install on my 2020 3up Spark and I'll give my tips: You will need some sort of pin extractor tool to remove the white blank pins from the wiring harness shown at 3:22 (I already had a set but they can be found cheap on Amazon, etc). Removing those blank pins was the hardest part of this job. Also, that wiring harness is removed by pulling down on the red tab then squeezing the middle of the harness right where the red tab locks into place. At 6:30 when locating the diagnostic port to plug in the module, my 2020 has fiber wrapped wires instead of the plastic/rubber sheath so it took me a bit to trace where the plug is located. It literally is plugged into a 'blank port'. Installing the new switch cover may involve 2 people (I did it myself with a bit of swearing). One person to hold the VTS switch and starter button and one to secure the new cover plate. I haven't tried out the setup yet as the midwest weather went from 85 on Saturday to 47 on Sunday. EDIT: I was able to try out the VTS this weekend. Holy smokes- it takes an already fun jetski into a whole new experience! Water wheelies are a blast! If you have a newer Spark with IBR then you need to do this install. Who cares about top speed when you can ride vertical! BTW I'm 51 and can wheelie with ease. Anyone can do this install and ride like a boss.

@joshpechman1400 It's called MENKEY 39 pieces terminal removal tool kit. Yes, getting those pins out were a pain in the ass.

@@thosemoments6193 Everything should be in the kit. I don't know what year Spark you have but the newer ones (2024) have a little different handlebar/ trim cover setup that I saw at the Minneapolis Boat Show. The only thing I bought separately was the terminal removal kit, and I had a bit of trouble getting those pins out. I think it took maybe a total of 2 hours from start to finish to get the VTS module installed. It wasn't hard, just tedious.

Just installed the vts kit on my 2016 with ibr and nothing works... vts dosen't show on dash... my dealer plugued in the computer and shows up in the parameters... anybody have an idea what it could be? Yes the wires are connected to same place in this video...

I installed a vts on my spark had ibr on it already. Vts comes up on screen now but I can't control up and down on trim. It's like in a limp mode or something with trim full up. Any ideas thanks.

You'll have to recheck the wiring. On very, very rare occasions we've seen a bad module....but you'll want to recheck all the connections first or you'll just have the same problem.

We'll work on a follow up video. Pretty simple though...you press the up button and the nozzle trims up. Press the down button and it'll trim down.

@@brycegrzeslo191 It's far far more cost effective to sell your current Spark and buy one with IBR and go from there. Respectfully, if you have to ask the questions on what it'd take, its going to be beyond what you should consider rather than buying a different unit that already has it.
