This method only works for installing Windows on an external drive and that's why it's called Windows to Go. I haven’t done a video tutorial on how to install Linux on an external drive yet, but I’ll definitely do it a little later. Linux isn't as picky with the installation target drive like Windows is. Linux live USBs are just as good as a portable Linux install too. You properly partition it so you can have personal file storage on a semi-immutable live setup that won't easily fail.
