How to Install WordPress Locally onto a PC

Want to learn how to use WordPress without all the baggage of launching and maintaining a public website? You're in luck. In this video, I'll teach you how to install WordPress locally onto your PC.
What does that mean?
Installing WordPress locally onto a computer means that you essentially turn your computer into your own personal server, onto which you can build your own personal website. In other words, it gives you the freedom to build a fully functional website directly onto your own computer that only you have access to. This is helpful if you're just getting started with WordPress, or if you want to test out some new coding techniques before launching them on a public website.
Before getting started, you'll need two things:
1. Wamp Server. Download and install Wamp Server from www.wampserver.com/en/
2. WordPress: Download WordPress files form wordpress.org

Two notes: 1) the wampserver install wasn't exactly a piece of cake for the IT challenged (tip-default username is for phpadmin login is "root" and leave the password blank), and 2) the unspoken note at 8:16 is important if you ever want to get back in. : /

Note to everyone, on the part where you install Wordpress by typing in the specific URL he mentioned. If you appear to be getting an error " URL //wordpress/ was not found on this server", then just make sure the wordpress folder you copied and pasted into your folder (in 'www') is entered the same in the URL. For example: if your wordpress folder is 'wordpress-5' (Like mine was), then enter - localhost//wordpress-5 Hope that helps!

When you intall or d press locally does it restrict you from uploading a custom theme? Bc wordpres online requires you to have a "business plan300$" to do so.

Excellent. I got a little challenge though. All is well up to " MyAdmin". When I click on it I didn't get the same page displayed in your tutorial.
