My shock mount has two washers that allow the microphone to move on the stand. no matter which way I screw them on, the microphone continues to be loose. it doesn't appear to stay in place. any help would be appreciated. I am completely blind.

I think the best result is to check the stand and pull it tight until you can’t no more and see how you will be needing to put it together on the table

Whoever invented this system is a sociopath. They could have just made holes to thread the band through and a way to seal the band shut when you're done, that way nothing could pop out and you don't have to play guacamole trying to keep every notch in place.
