Hey guys I’m stuck, planned on using a kimbrough 48p spur, it seems too thick and doesn’t spin free….what Spurs do you recommend

Hey there - if you're using a Kimbrough gear, you may have one of two things going on. 1) During the build Step 8 of Bag B (Manual Page 6), there is a small .5mm shim on the OUTSIDE of the spur gear assembly. Because Kimbrough gears are a little thicker than the Tamiya gears, you may need to remove that shim for it to spin freely. That's what I did on mine (although I'm not using a Kimbrough gear, my gear is thicker than the stock gears). 2) If you look at your kit gears and the Kimbrough ones, you'll notice that the hole pattern is tighter on the Tamiya gears - not the same with the Kimbrough. This could cause the 'fingers' on the pulleys to not be aligned correctly and cause them to sit farther apart. When you add the screw, it could pinch everything together. To verify this, build it with the kit gear, measure the width, then build with the Kimbrough and measure the width. Chances are it's going to be a couple MM wider with the Kimbrough.
