Dude! I can’t say how amazing this is! I live in a small rural town where we had a guitar teacher at the local music store that really SUCKED. I never learned anything in over a year that I took lessons so I felt discouraged from ever learning music theory. 15 years later I’m finally learning thanks to you!!!

Happy to help, glad this is useful for you :)

Yeah i had the same experience at a course i took at my local junior college at 17 years old but later i learned from a guitarist that used to be in Darkest hour that did online lessons a few years later. A good teacher makes a world of difference and Bernth definitely knows his stuff. He explains things alot better than most instructors i have encountered.
@alcatraz8767 Жыл бұрын
I had a shit guitar teacher too. He hired me to teach for him when I barely knew anything (at 15 years old lol). I think I had taken lessons with him for about 3 months. All he would do is have me get playlists together for him in order to teach me (inaccurate versions) of songs I liked and basically just botch songs and use Am, Em, G, C, and D chords for EVERTHING. I knew they sounded wrong but being so young who wants to call out their "mentor" for doing a crappy job. It was the biggest joke ever. He would get high and then come back reeking of weed. He was pretty decent at guitar but pretty much just wanted to show off to a bunch of 15-year-olds. LOL Thinking back, I can pinpoint EVERY SINGLE time I was asking questions, he was very obviously ignoring me... Hindsight definitely being 20/20. 15 Years later and I realize there is this/ thing called "Music Theory" that is actually the part of music that I TOTALLY dig... OH WELL ✌✌

This dude is amazing. I am a euphonium player and have played it for almost 8 years now and I’m just starting to pick up guitar. I know a lot of music theory and write my own stuff for the euphonium from time to time when I’m not playing in a band. Now after seeing this video for the guitar I’ll be able to speed up the guitar learning process a lot. Thanks bernth

I know I'm writing on an old video and you probably won't see this but I just wanted to say your videos have been absolutely amazing, I haven't played guitar in over 12yrs (life). My son started playing drums about 3yrs ago and recently got him a double beater. It's clear he's showing no signs of stopping, and he asked me the other day to start playing along with him. I've used several of your videos as a sort of 'boot camp' to whip myself back into shape and plan on getting into your Patreon to make sure I can keep up with him lol. Can't think of a cooler thing to father/son bond over than metal \m/

BERNTH. I’m a fan. I think this is your calling. Playing and teaching. I am a Patreon subscriber. The only concern I have as a novice shredder is order of use. I’ve always played rhythm not lead. I’m good at it but time to completely dream. My question is where to start. I can see how a new guitar player would not know how to put these lessons into an order of first to last to do. This is the best guitar learning site on the net. Congratulations for doing a great job. I’m glad I’ve joined the BERNTH community!!

Learning the notes in groups also makes sense from a psychological point of view. “Chunking” the notes into groups (like c-d-e, f-g-a-b, accidentals) makes them easier to remember. We do the same thing with phone numbers, for example.

Dude, since I've been wanting your videos and doing your practice videos I've become so much better of a guitar player in a really short time. It's really crazy. I do actual practice probably 3 -4 times a week with your videos around 45 minutes to an hour and my speed, accuracy, and just over all playing have improved. Cant wait to start these exercises...never realized how bad I sucked before...Haha :) thanks Bernth!

4:24 The flats right there were the easiest part for me. Its because I kept playing the open E string and I started picking E flat as well And hello ? It sounded like Rema - Calm Down So from there I just went to D flat and again it sounded the same. Only with B flat I had to use B instead of open E string. And then A flat and G flat were easy.

It's "ABCDEFG", but everyone starts from C, so it's CDEFGABC. I got stuck a lot of times when I tried to memorise it starting from C, so remember this cool technique and you'll be able to instantly remember this forward and backwards :)
