Saying psychedelics "cure" these dysfunctions is like saying dumbbells "cure" being overweight. They are an incredibly valuable and often essential tool, but the work itself is what actually makes the difference!

Yes, definitely the outcome is in context to how they are used.

The medical science isn't actually advanced enough to say for certain just how theraputic psychedelics might be for various mental illnesses. Hypothetically, it's quite possible that a few sessions if psychedelic therapy in, say, a patient with major depression could jump start enough regrowth of neurons that it might be considered a "cure". We just don't know yet. That's why we need more rigorous medical research.

I've spent 11 months getting informed about psychedelics now and this was the most important video on KZbin so far. This week I'm going to finally experience it myself, but the friends I'll spend the time with don't believe in the therapeutic potential of tripping. I don't know anybody except me who does, where I live psychedelics are mostly seen as nothing more than drugs. I'm still going to try to get something out of it. Wish me luck.

There’s places u could talk. San Francisco psychedelic society, they have regular meetings on zoom. I think fireside project too, but I haven’t tried it-it’s just one on one, I believe. Best wishes

Most of the therapeutic benefits that I've gotten have been when im alone and not distracted. How did it go??

@@mahmoodabdulbaqi824 It was great! I've tripped three times since then and every time it has given me some kind of psychological development or healing. Last time a quite big issue I had just solved itself and I feel so free since then. I'm very curious how it feels to trip alone but I don't dare to try it yet, I think I feel much calmer with a trip sitter. Especially since my next time will be a much higher dose than what I've taken until now. But non the less, thanks for the suggestion! :)

@@dr.sigmundfreud3030 yeah definitely have a tripsittier, even when I trip alone there's always someone in another room or there in case I need help. Glad it went well, how much are you planning to do next?

Great stuff again guys. In that "being with it" phase that you talk about when your coming down, I've always found helpful to be with it in an emotional state of openness, curiosity and kindness... especially with yourself... and especially if the trip was challenging. Also, for me, dreams the night or two after the trip often have gifts that take some time to decipher and integrate. I now this this as part of the trip experience.

Hey Peter, thank you. Yeah it's an important period...it's almost like our minds are still in this open state where we can deepen the connections that were opened during the trip on a neurological effort through focus and attention on the feelings and insights.

Thanks Diana! Thought Have A Good Trip was hilarious, haha. I'm happy they alluded to the fact that psychedelics are more than just for fun though, too.

Thank you for this video! Recently had my first psilocybin experience for the first time in years, and *woah* was that a ride. Like you said a part of me wants to shout about it from the rooftops but then I remember I gotta keep myself in check 😅. I’ll definitely take this advice thanks so much for the help!!

One thing I don’t hear much about is how often people repeat their psychedelic experiences? Assuming neuroplasticity fades by 4 months, do many repeat at 4-6 months and then go through a phase of integration?
