I was diagnosed with Depression and ADHD several years ago. I was prescribed Venlafaxine for the depression and Methylphenidate for the ADHD. Unfortunately, the Venlafaxine didn’t work for me. Later, I learned about *mycotask* and their approach to using psychedelic mushrooms as a treatment for depression. I decided to try a mild-to-medium dose of psilocybin. Initially, it was intended for a recreational trial, but I noticed a significant improvement in my mental well-being for several weeks afterward. I felt happier, more in control of my emotions, and my social anxiety disappeared, all from just one experience!

Afterward, during a conversation with my mother, I felt a calm come over me and that a veil had been lifted. At that moment there was no anxiety. Psychedelics in general have done what hundreds of hours of PTSD therapy couldn't. I went from being on 31 pill daily for mental states to 0 over the course of 13 weeks. Like everything in the world. It's not for everyone and experiences will certainly vary. Me and my friends approached it from a lens of healing and learning and it's exactly what we got out of it.

The one time I had a bad trip, ended up being a great learning experience. I took some shrooms, called ALL of my friends. They sounded excited when I told them I was on shrooms. Inevitably they would ask if they came over they could have some. I didn't have any extra, then they would say, "Oh I can't trip sit with you I'm busy". This hit me deep in the feels, causing a bad trip. So I asked myself why I had sooooo many shitty "friends". The answer? "You're a druggy and so are they. You're pretty shitty too. You're a loser. Move away from your toxic home town and stop doing drugs". Felt excited and happy after getting this answer. I moved that same week. Best decision of my life.

People with depression proceed with caution. I suffered from extreme depression and ptsd from a accident that left me burned and disfigured. I struggled with depression for years but never suicidal. I tried a mushroom trip as a last resort to cure my depression and what happened scared me! The trip made me comfortable with the thought of death. Almost made me think that suicide wouldn’t be so bad, it’s ok to die. These thoughts scared me to no end! I didn’t have these thoughts before the trip. Luckily I spoke with my wife throughout this process and together we worked it out. Later on a tried micro dosing which ultimately I believed truly helped me. The micro dosing made me more open and I was able to lay it all out and work thru things with my wife to help guide me. So just a word of caution. And please let your loved ones know what you are doing so they can offer help if needed.

I was once worried that I might be a psychopath. I told this to my counselor and she said, "I definitely know you're not a psychopath." I asked her how she knew. "A psychopath wouldn't be worried about it. A psychopath wouldn't care." I dont know if that conveys what I'm trying to say, but what I'm getting at is perhaps being scared of being ok with suicide is a good thing... depression is like a living death and a lot of our thoughts while depressed are like being ok with dying like that. So perhaps that is the lesson. Well...I think I really shit the bed on that one and i dont think what I said makes any sense, but I hope you know what I mean. Being scared of beingnok with death is like being afraid of death which, for a person with a wonderful wife etc is a good thing. Kicks your ass into appreciating life.

In the same house, I did a small experiment: I was not drinking any alcohol then, but my boss had given me a bottle of sherry and 2 glasses for a job well done. So i sat, meditated, and asked a question: what is alcohol? Then i drank 2 small glasses of sherry and lay down. About 10 minutes later a carpet of all black inscts, spider like, entered the room and crawled towards me. Terrifying. I knew it was a hallucination but could do nothing to stop it. I could not utter any sound.Paralised with fear. That was 45 years ago. Mind is a strange and tricky place. Nowadays, i just shift focus and enter the Transcendent anytime. No need for any drugs.

@@sandrastreifel6452 "those natural substances do aid and improve your meditations".This may be true for some, and not so much for others. In the end, even Terence McKenna did not make a lot of improvement compared to Ram Das. With all his knowledge and experience, he still was trapped in the mind. I see Psycheldelic users who have blown up ego´s and think they are so great, but actually horrible people. Psyechedelics, if used correctly, may give some insight using it once or twice, and stimulate to start meditation, but i also see, that it becomes a hindrance once the level of psycvhedelics is reached "naturally", via meditation. The ego strikes back at such a point, and all advance disappears because the "body-memory" triggers the ego back into action. And then it is much harder to get rid of. Psychedelics do nothing to evaporate the ego.

When i dropped 500ug of lsd a couple of days ago I had the complete experience of dying (in my head if course). And that made me realize that it is both okay to die, but also that I didn't want to die. The whole experience really brought perspective and a newfound joy into my life. I tried psychedelics in the form of shrooms also with some really strong weed and alcohol together. And needless to say the trip itself did not go well. However I think it was the catalyst to coming out a changed man. Afterwards i realized I was a very unhappy individual and there was a lot of dark shit buried deep within my sub-conscience. Things ive always thought if i said or expressed out loud people would hate me. My one friend who was with me while i was tripping out stood by me and to this day is probably my closest friend. Needless to say, ive come out a changed man. In 3 months I’ve eliminated all of my people-pleasing tendencies, ive sought professional help for something that happened to me in my childhood, started a new career, I even started dating. I probably won’t go out of my way to try it again but that experience has made a lot of things that i thought were impossible, VERY easy today.

Mushrooms are meant to be taken with respect. Mixing a dirty addictive drug with it like alcohol defeats the entire purpose. Making your experience not as beneficial. Psilocybin demands respect or else it will not respect you.

I can relate because my first microdose did not go well. I, too, attribute it likely to be the result of having too much "stuff" in my past that I lug around every day. I had solved the biggest thing troubling me in life with the help of LSD. I can honestly say that this drug has cured my anxiety and depression about my future, my life seems so bright ahead of me. I wish all of you luck in finding your own way❤️
@kjell1594 жыл бұрын
Come back to this comment within a year, to see if it still applies. I don't believe a trip can clinically 'cure' anything to be honest. When you have scientific evidence besides some random fMRI scan of the same single brain on acid. BTW feeling sad isn't the same as depression, if you didn't know that already. If you go to a psychiatrist or doctor and he gives you a diagnosis, you can call tell me you suffered from a major depressive disorder. Depression is a lifelong illness, if you've had 3 depressive episodes, the chance of having a next one in the near or further future is almost certain.

I saw how it was effecting the people in my life. I also saw where I made up that I had to be that way and was able to let it go. It was amazing! I did have a guide sitting with me while doing this.

Or was it something you could pay or sign up for? I've had very deep depression and suicidal thoughts for a few years but I recently have been taking massive strides in controlling things and I would like to revisit psilocybin but with a GUIDED trip instead of the random nature of my few brief experiences I had in college. I don't know about telepathic, but it certainly wouldn't hurt for us to all feel a sense of connection with not only each other, but with the world around us as well. That could very well lead to a very large shift in the way humans deal with conflict. We have a very long way to go in terms of breaking down the stigma that surrounds psychedelics. That negative influence alone could throw somebody into a terrifying negative experience, so it should only be done by those who do not fear what they have to offer. Hopefully we can end the stigma.

You don't need any psychedelics just sit in a dark room for 1 week The key mechanism starts with melatonin, which is created in the brain by converting tryptophan into serotonin, which is then converted into serotonin. There needs to be enough tryptophan in the body through diet. Then, the melatonin builds up over the course of the next few days. It builds up at the rate of 2-5mg per day which then tapers off at 15-20mg. The body then recognizes that melatonin is no longer needed and begins producing pinoline, 5-MeO-DMT, and DMT. THis part of the process takes about 3 days. Pinolene is released within the pineal gland (as all these compounds are) and produce “the light show” that is commonly seen in many psychedelics. The DMT and 5-MeO-DMT is a key part of the therapy. During this point, “ego death” can be experienced with an increase in “beingness”. During days 6-8, 5-MeO-DMT (which is normally only found in the womb and in the first few months) is now reactivated. Around day 9-12, there is enough mono amine oxidase inhibition from the pinoline secretion to allow the melatonin cycle to be intercepted by adrenaline and ephedrine activity to be converted into a DMT serotonin pathway. The DMT levels reach above 25mg which allows the body to transcend into “hyperspace” or the DMT realm. So you can have the same Tripp without the drug itself.

From my experience as a veteran PSychonaut of over 40+ years there is a marked difference between organic and synthetic forms of psychedelics. Organic forms like Mushrooms, Ayahuasca, Peyote, and san Pedro have a connection to an "other" that is a guiding or interactive presence. Synthetics like LSD do not have this association. There is no "Mother LSD" like there is a "Mother Aya". I would like to see Psilocybin trials using natural Mushrooms instead of synthetics or extractions. I believe that isolating a specific chemical from a Plant Teacher alters the connection and experience. I know that the scientific mind has a delusion about dosage and control, but those with experience know that just a little at times can be a lot. There is a "next step" though to integration and processing; after wringing out the Jungian type associations to the journey-ask yourself "of all the journeys to have/co-create, WHY this one?". This question and the quest if so chosen will really open the Rabbit Holes of your psyche. Also, you need quite a few more journeys than one to really get an appreciation for this! I love Michael and have read his books, but I think he should do more than just dip his toes in.

I think you need to experience it. We don't even have language to describe a lot of it... So my answer to your question... at least what I've been doing... is I talk about psychedelics all the time. There will be a "taboo" feel to it, until theres not... and I think information, and brining things to the light is key... so I just keep planting seeds that psychedelics are one of the most profound and life enhancing things I believe anyone can ever do. I also think we all should plant cannabis seeds at EVERY opportunity... anywhere. Anywhere anywhere. I think cannabis growing wild would change everything (and, no, I don't even smoke.. I've just done tons of research on the benefits because I was trying to figure out how to heal my mom... and cannabis came up... over and over and over, and with all types of benefits for people with all types of diseases... Plus you can eat it, and make 10's of thousands of materials from it, including a biodegradable plastic, and we could even replace gasoline with it... and so much more... ) Thanks for the talk, I really enjoyed that 😊🙏🏼💖

Right now we are just semi average in my book ( some cool things for sure) but lacking potential. AND this meant ME as well, I am not excluded. So I decided to quit my vices and become a productive member in society. If shrooms can do that experience to everyone then we are in for one amazing ride!

What is the cello suite that he's referring to. MP says Bach cello suite in G minor, but Bach didn't write one in G minor. Anyone?

One point to add about the 'objectification of the other', it is part of the environmental crisis in that workers in general have limited autonomy and are used as objects for maintaing wealth and power of the top of social hierarchy. So, people are not only acting under another 'other's control, they are often doing something for which there is no significant personal meaning. Both worker and owner become mere objects to each other. And capitalism, as long as it presupposes capability for infinite growth, obviously accelerates risks to resources that keep us alive, paradoxical as it may be. I feel like I am stating the obvious, but it came to mind when he spoke of objectification. We kind of get into materialistic loops I think. Connection to the material world is crucial for survival of course, but I think the prevailing societal catalyst of industrial capitalism takes it to a level of excess waste, and it has proven to be too unsustainable to let it keep dominating our motivations and our social and institutional cohesion. Psychedelics I hope can help change hearts and minds. And I don't believe everyone has to take them in order for that to happen. Just passing on the idea that science, and spirituality (or you might just say 'mental health') really are both important - that we can't live purely objective lives, and that wouldn't be fulfilling - starts to open a new conversation and brings spirituality into a new light, that really does have practical value. We wouldn't have a tendency to treat mental illness, or a tendency to want happiness and fulfillment even when not mentally ill, if those feelings weren't beneficial, right?

MetalNick Yes! You are correct about this. I would add that I too was moved to connecting our human condition currently with the way our species objectifies pretty much everything. It makes me wonder if this tendency is at once a crucial defense mechanism for survival and self defense as well as a sort of evolutionary hiccup in terms of us fitting into our ecosystems. Way way back we had a greater cultural connection to the natural world simply because of how our limited technology kept us in touch with it. We had various traditional mythologies and rituals that linked us closely to the rest of life; we had a sort of homeostasis at one point. Then something happened and slowly, exponentially we have refined our egos and disconnection from anything that we perceive as not us, who ever we may be. I think an interesting example of shared oneness that still struggles to exist happens to pregnant women. This is a literal example of one being becoming more than that. This deep connection is essential for survival as well. However there is a constant effort on the part of western medicine, politics, and other societal forces to immediately segregate the mother from the offspring, sometimes at conception in order to maintain control and power over this deep desire to separate and organize everything into categories that ultimately keep us apart and unwell. There is an ego death talked about in birth in many cultures and traditions; that in order to bring a new being into the world the mother must travel to the land of the dead and come back again, or, be alright with the idea that she may not. And that is seen as the pivotal moment in the act of giving birth. I know that I took this in a much different direction than yourself but it is something we all go through and we can see the deep emotions that revolve around this issue the world over. Control versus acceptance, bonding versus alienation from the body. Religions built upon the denigration and mistrust of this process. Anyway it’s awesome people are validating this important experience and advocating for the renewed social acceptance of this amazing ability of ours. 🦋❤️🐝

If you didnt rethink your entire being when you were tripping, then you didnt trip hard enough. Almost every time ive taken mushrooms, it has made me take a cold hard look at who i really was, what i was really doing. Who i was affecting. Things i needed to change. It was a huge “self check” on the ego. Every time i trip, i shed layers of my ego. Also purging is a good thing. It is the soul shedding the body of many demons. The feeling of relief and weight off my chest was absolutely exhilerating.

I love the mirror but I am experienced. It isn't for noobs. If your looking for the next level the mirror can be a new experience but have your guide help you away from it after a reasonable time or you can get stuck. You must have a powerful mind to do this though.

I actually emailed Michael Pollan and he responded to me, wasn't a full on conversation, but I still really appreciated that he took the time out to respond to me after reading my rather long winded message.

Simple summary: you are a spirit having human experience. Your conscious core self is hidden under the shell of ego(unconscious self). You always thought and identified yourself as your ego, with its illusions. Lsd or shrooms makes your ego dissolve. Spirit self will emerge. You don't have a soul. You are a soul. This is what emerges. You won't understand it. You will experience it. Human thinking mind can't compherend the awareness (spirt) But you can be it. You can be yourself.
