a little extra money here, more extra money there, at the end you have several sites, and your credit card on all those sites. That's also a disadvantage of the second option.

For a 24/7 chatbot you need a replit core account and you need to deploy the code as vm webserver * hope this information helps somebody*

I already have a core account and deployed the code on a Reserved VM (I don't see an option VM webserver), but the dev url that we used in voiceflow API request still says in Replit "Dev URLs are temporary and will sleep after you leave the workspace"... And it seems to still stop working if I close my browser, am I missing something? Should there be a different dev URL I should use?

Interesting! But not clear why you need replit in the first place for the backend - seems like you have all the features you mentioned natively within Voiceflow like chatting with a knowledgebase, no? Or can one not run an Open AI assistant / custom GPT in VF?

I think it's because voice flow will charge you extra/gpt 4o call, if you are just paying for it yourself it'll be alot cheaper

Thanks for this help.. Really helpful, question I while testing the Bot, in the middle of the conversation for some reason it will say "Failed to create generate response!" It seems the API is disconnected in the middle of it. It happens almost everytime I keep doing testing. Is that because my voiceflow account is still on trial? or something more on the setup?

@@bo-sar hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, I use the code in replit to run. It is working and I'm able to test the bot just fine. It's just the conversation often gets disconnected in the middle of the chat. Refreshing it just reconnects the API back.. EDIT I did now deploy it and choose autoscale but it still stops running after I close my replit. When I relaunch replit, it still say deploy but the button on top now says "Run" meaning it is not yet running

Thanks but I have tried it and doesn't read the knowledgebase docs I provide. The chatbot just makes it all up. I've tried CVS, TXT, XLSX, DOCX... doesn't seem to use them at all as part of it's knowledge base to answer in the chat, it's like it just uses the custom instructions and then acts as ChatGPT and invents everything else

Yes, it seems to be cheaper though. You can always build the front end yourself and avoid paying for Voiceflow. Then only the servers and AI tokens.
