the SIM900A needs far more current then the Arduino can deliver, thats why some SMS sending dont work. The module can consume peaks of 2A during sending Use a separate power supply or better a 3.7V Li-ion cell !!!!

the wiring does not seem to work for me. The SIM900 seems to work if it is directly connected to the arduino 5V. althought I red thatt his should be avoided... but it works. however this means that theres no power for other sensors
