What about shooting with a softbox / octa and then put large diffusion in front? Maybe just one layer of diffusion ON the softbox / octa, and then though the large diffusion panel?

Thanks for sharing! The booklight makes sense if you are doing more of the subject's body like in the results you show at the end of the video. When I light with a single 3 ft softbox for keylight, I am only getting the upper torso and higher properly exposed. Everything under that is darker. Sure I could use a 2nd light, but I like the simplicity of your booklight setups.

The lighting is as gorgeous as always, but I'm getting PTSD from that old Vinten tripod. 😵💫

I would have gone more high key for this.

Think Built Ford Tough vibe. The are rough necks that work the oil and gas fields.

@@PDMokry I get it. But you guys had big giant bright bay doors… seems like an obvious choice to use that and go high key. Plus you’re shooting outside on the other shots. Dark and moody shadowy isn’t the vibe I’d have gone for personally. Thanks for sharing!

what brand would you recommend for a diffuser? I got a modern studio 36x36 Ultrabounce floppy at the moment. Also on the FX3 what was he battery that he was powering the FX3? was it a PD vmount.

Normally, you have the talent looking more towards the light at the interviewer in between the camera and lighting. Why did you do it different this time?
@videographerstuff5392 ай бұрын
Looks like the talent is doing it straight to camera and or with a teleprompter. I think he’s just looking at the director between takes getting notes.

I believe that's the lighting. 70 IRE is high for his skin color. May look better at around 60-60IRE.

Presuming its shot slog3 ,there is no such thing as Sony color , it's down to the skills of the colorist . It can look like anything these days with decent software like Resolve .

@@AcastroAX slog3 can be made to look like any other camera , those days are long gone . If someone doesn't like the look of a presumably not fully graded slog corporate video skin tone , that has nothing to do with the "Sony Look" thats some old hang over to their REC709 look many years ago now. You could tell a film shot on Arri or Venice , I would bet not these days .

@@robinprobyn1971 you are missing the point. If you record in log and convert to Rec709 with a Sony lut you it will look bad period. Yes if you do color grading it is a different story but Sony colors are trash as intended
