I would LOVE to know the best way to use equity in my home to buy shares, not property. Buying shares instead of property gives you better control on how you can service the loan (repayments), as buying property means you have to buy something that's around $1m and servicing that loan can be challenging. With shares, you can choose how much equity you feel comfortable servicing the loan repayments. So, instead of the pain in servicing an additional $1m loan for a property that you can use your equity to buy, why not use less equity to service a smaller loan like $300k which would be far easier to repay per month. Thanks for the great videos!!
@BryanInvest8 ай бұрын
Hey Ken, I actually cover this in this video about debt recycling. Basically you can use part of your home equity to apply for a new investment loan which you can use to buy shares. And if these shares are incoming producing (pay dividends) then you can claim a tax deduction on the interest you pay for that loan. Here's the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXW4e2VpgK6VkKs

Hi Bryan I have been following you since a month or two. I am doing my research to start investing in ETF. I can't find any video of yours to explain that should I go for broker like stake or go directly to vanguard site and buy their ETF? What are the pros n cons to that, using broker or buying ETF directly.
@BryanInvest8 ай бұрын
Hey mate, well you can use this video as a guide on why you should go for an online broker. Vanguard Personal Investor is very biased towards Vanguard products only. So the fees are more expensive if you want to invest in non-Vanguard stocks/ETFs. Plus it is no chess sponsored. The choice is clear in my opinion.

Awesome video as always! Clear and easy to understand. Australia needs more videos really like this. Why do you think some of the broker out there have waay more higher fee such as commbank’s? Is moomoo legit despite CHESS sponsored?
@BryanInvest8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the nice comment! I'm glad you find the video helpful. Moomoo has all the security measures in place to as safe and legit as any chess sponsored broker in Australia. Worse case scenario, if it goes bankrupt, your shares are under your name and you will be able to transfer it to another broker. The reason the other brokers like Commsec can charge higher is because they are established and already have the trust of the Australian public so they can charge a premium for essentially the same service. People are willing to pay more for companies they trust. It's kind of like how ING/Ubank pays a high interest rate but CBA/NAB can still offer a relatively low interest rate and people would still sign up since it's a big 4 (trusted) bank.
