My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

My top tips for beginners when they finally decide to invest in stocks, 1. Never pot all your eggs in one basket 2. Don't be a bandwagon person. 3. Don't buy something you don't understand, if you don't have time to do this, get the services of a pro (that way you also give little room for error and get tailored investments). The way I see it this recession most likely has an external cause. The United States is losing influence as a federal currency for the first time in decades. They don't have any more economies to utilize to control their inflation, and less money is being spent on stock and oil trading than previously. They all lend credence to the hypothesis that a new multilateral world order may be in the works.

Wealth in theory is invested and split into two main asset classes, the lower yielding but safer bonds and the higher yielding but riskier equities. If you have a good economy investor capitalize on the upside by shifting more of their holdings to equities, if economy is doing bad they shift more their portfolios to bonds to protect on the downside even if in real terms (after inflation) they will not be earning a return. And bond yields is simply a reflection of the price of bonds or demand on bonds based on what i've stated above on where investor prefer to add more weight in placing the investable weight. Although it seems to be that shifts in asset classes is influence by a free market economy, what we have seen recently adds another third element, Fed Rates.
@kansasmile2 жыл бұрын
What I think we may see in the next couple of months is a shift from risk-off stocks to more risk-on stocks (and other asset classes as well), as the market becomes more comfortable with inflation. The flow of liquidity towards risk will most likely result in the removal of money from the "safer" plays in the market, or the "hideaways" and big tech, resulting in big drops from the stocks that have held up well, and rallies in riskier assets as money rushes in.

The fact of the matter is The Federal Reserve holds a lot of power when it comes to influencing the economy, and by proxy, the performance of stocks, bonds and other investments. With that in mind, it’s important to be aware of how changes to domestic monetary policy could impact your portfolio and the actions you can take to help safeguard your investments.

You’ve likely heard this a million times, but diversification within a portfolio is of paramount importance. With a diversified portfolio it becomes possible for one subset of asset classes to generate meaningful returns even as others struggle during volatile market conditions.

@@glenbert1396 you are right, I've tried investing in the stock market several times but always got discouraged by fluctuations of stock value. but took advantage of the market with the tutelage of US-based finance consultant who helped me to Diversify my portfolio and everything changed. I was able to increase my portfolio in months. You have to seek for help in the right places.

Great video, very helpful. Wish I could've invested in stocks when I was younger. I feel like I missed the boat since I'm 42 now. I started my stock journey a little over a year ago, but I'm only able to invest about $200 a month into a few stocks that I own. It's a start, and hopefully still luractive when I retire. Be well, everyone...

If you're just starting, it's better to just buy an ETF and don't look at it for some time. As a beginner, investing $100 every month in an ETF like $TQQQ can make a huge impact over the long-term.
