The glass assembly is called the "front panel". Just check Amazon or eBay for "iPad front panel". Make sure you're getting the right part (you may need to check the model # of your iPad). It should be between $20 and $40, roughly. Check out iFixit's website for instructions. If you have an iPad 2, instead of their "heat pad" remover you can use a hair dryer or heat gun.

Hello Nice video. I got a question: I did exactly the same, but when I put the new front panel, the LCD never turn on. Altought Siri keep speaking when I push the button. What could be wrong? did I screw up the LCD? Thanks for answer.

When the home brew dirties the tape securing the LCD it will never be secure... With this and any factory assembled device failing to secure it again with the correct adhesives will allow vibration and further damage should the home brewer assume it's 'as good as new'. So this is unfortunate advice for home brew maintenance I am afraid....

ps, You will likely break the clips when removing the screen. So if you are just trying to replace the home button, power button, battery, or anything other than the screen, then you will need some replacement clips to get the screen installed correctly once again. pps. The other video is by contributor called GadgetMenders. No pretty girl but much more detail and insight into the construction, take apart, and the reassembly of the device. Good luck.

do you have a video in how to replace a broken screen on a HTC Mozart
@supershwa697711 жыл бұрын
I think it's the iPad 3 - the iPad 2 (GSM) is assembled differently: instead of locking clips, the front panel is held in place with adhesive, and you have to be careful not to damage the wifi antenna when removing the panel.
@XGempler12 жыл бұрын
Very pretty girl, clear and articulate, high production quality, but unfortunately has a major flaw. The tall right hand side of the panel of the first gen iPad is not held in place with clips but rather is held in with tabs that insert into edge of the aluminum frame. The top, bottom and left hand side has clips. Prying from the right hand side is possible but it puts tension on glass that promotes breakage. There is a better method shown by someone called GedgetMedders (no afilliation)

thanks for showing us how to open it, though if you'd said that the top, left, and bottom should be opened and the slid out...... i wouldn't have broken all those clips, the right side has fixed plastic clips that don't move............. still - at least i now know how to open it, peace

CRUCIAL: If you going to attempt this repair make sure to buy screen clips because the on on the assembly are VERY fragile. During my first disassembly I've managed to break ALL of them. That is to say it is not my first time working with small and fragile devices.
