Dude... like 1 our of everything 10k people have perfect pitch. You don't need anything close to be able to know what chord changes are happening. There are certain chord progressions that are soooopopular thay you realize them right away. For others, you merely find the key of the song (which requires either decent pitch or a little bitnof get up and go to find the root note.) Quite looking for shit that will give you the easiest way. You don't have to know how to write classical 4 part harmony but, good lord, learn what each chord sounds like in a key (1 the major chord, rhe key everything resolves here 4 sounds good from and to almost anything 5 the dominant chord ultimate tension that wants to resolve to 1 and 6 the minor chord )/key of the parent key. In most rap music you can be on a 6 (minot chord) the whole time... or go 6-4 over and over. All this shit that makes people not have to do any work is definitely insulting to someone like me who HAS studied it and it's going to HINDER your progress. Have you ever depended on the GPS to get somewhere? You don't remember how to get there without... turn off the proverbial GPS and find your way there. This software IS cool tho for isolating drums (to sample or use to synthesize into your own percussions) ... quite looking for the easiest out. Can you hum? Well thej you can see what key u in so you can set all your 808's to the root note 🙄

Perfect pitch has nothing to do with music transcription or learning by ear: it's just an ability to recognize pitch without any context.
@willdwyer67822 жыл бұрын
It's called absolute pitch. For some folks it's second nature, but anyone who doesn't have a hearing impairment and understands the fundamentals of music theory can learn it with practice. Check out Rick Beato's youtube channel. He sells video instruction on fundamental music theory and ear training.

For all guitar players out there, Here is what you can expect. Do not get me wrong i am not trying to bash the software. It is one of the best one among similar softwares i tried. The software indeed does great job creating a karaoke track or backing track as demonstrated in the tutorial videos but if you want more than that as a guitar player, if fails. I tried the full trial version. All guitars including overdubs and transients are gathered under one guitar section. Even if you hand pick each note by hand and delete, you can not get a clean single guitar track. it captures every transient as separate note which makes cleaning and converting to midi impossible. I am too lazy to tab my compositions that I fed my dry single track to it to convert to a midi file. When i open the file with guitar pro the tab was nothing but a chaos thanks to transients. And it was hi quality dry wav file. Things gets worse if you use distorted guitars and god forbid mp3 files as source. IMHO even vocal tracks are unusable if you want to insert it in your DAW and make a new professional remix.
@mrhobs Жыл бұрын
EDIT 2: OK so it looks Rip comes with DeepRemix (demonstrated in the video), but 2 other modules DeepCreate, and DeepAudio allow you to do a whole bunch of other stuff, including record tracks with a microphone or MIDI controller. 21 day demo includes all 3, after that its $99 for DeepRemix, or $198 for DeepCreate + DeepRemix, or $297 for DeepAudio + DeepCreate + DeepRemix. (Still need to look into Ableton Live and Studio One's full feature list...) EDIT: So does this have like basic DAW features as well? I'd like to not have to switch back and forth between this and GarageBand if I can help it. Like if I need to record a little extra guitar part, or keyboard part... I'd have to use something else, huh? Also... this makes me wonder... I know GarageBand now has some basic isolating features (maybe just vocals) which... aren't the best for what I'm doing, but... maybe Ableton Live or Studio One has similarly advanced features to RipX? Might see if I can use something I already own ha. Original comment: Finally found a great option tool. Thanks for such a great straightforward video! There are probably several other tools like this, but this one works for Mac and seems to do everything I want. (I tried vocalremover, an in-browser app that is super simple and worked surprisingly well, but was also limited to just separating vocals. Hopefully RipX does that even better, plus I would like to see the notes and isolate other instruments occasionally.) Can't wait to try it! 😃

Hey David. Fantastic demo bro. I'm just curious if the software can detect and separate different guitar layers played at the same time. In many songs it is not just one guitar at a time, but several guitars playing all at ones. Greetings. John.

I wonder has this software anything to do with the Nimbus Centre which is located on the grounds of Muster Technological University in Cork. Went to a showcase their back in 2013 and there was a guy there who demonstrated this exact type of software he'd been working on for years, but was still a work in progress. I honestly didn't believe him when chatting to him beforehand, that it could do what he was saying, but sure enough the demo blew everyone away. The maths that was involved in this type of engineering is absolutely bonkors. I remember him showing bits of the code and its incredibly complex. At the time native instruments were trying to buy it from him, but he wanted a partnership, not sell the rights to it. I really do hope this is his baby in action because he was so passionate about what he was creating!

I haven't yet tried this, but for what it's worth, by using Melodyne's polyphonic version of their pitch correction software, I think there's a work around for this (haven't tried it yet). You should be able to take 2 copies of that dual guitar stem and then be able to delete either to upper or lower guitar lines to eventually have yourself 2 separate guitar tracks. But, honestly, if I didn't already own it, I not sure I'd buy it just for that purpose, their polyphonic version ain't cheap. I'd be hoping there's a nice RipX upgrade coming down the pike.

Based on your video, I bought the software. When I have a recorded song, say by The Rolling Stones, I’m having a difficult time separating the piano from the guitar. Even though they say you can edit the guitar and save it on its own track who can make sense of the digital noises that used to be notes. The sounds don’t even sound familiar anymore to be able to recognize which is a guitar or the piano. It’s a lot of hodge podge and a complete mess.

This is exactly the thing you would need to do that. Sometimes the masters for different musicians music are available for download in their original multitrack format. And there is different software that can isolate different tones...but nothing quite like this. I haven't tried it yet...but if this video is legit...it does exactly what you are describing.
