How to Isolate Poi Flowers - Intermediate Poi Tutorial

Think poi isolations are cool? What if I told you that you can add them to nearly any flower or body tracer? The trick is to team up inspin flowers with static spin just for an instant to give the illusion of the poi isolating for a moment. In this tutorial, I'll take you through the process for how to add isolated moments to things like windmills so that you can then apply the ideas here to other flower based poi tricks!

Hey Drex, I've been curious what constitutes an "advanced" poi move? The moves you (and other flow artists I've seen on KZbin) describe to be intermediate to me seem to be as advanced as it can get. Are there even more difficult moves out there that rarely get taught because they just take such a high level of control? Or does the advanced aspect of poi come through mostly transitions? Thanks

From what I've noticed (I can get 99% of "advanced" moves down within a few hours at most) advanced moves apply multiple fundamental thoughts in conjunction or opposition (amongst other combinations) to each other. The better you understand the "vocabulary" or your arsenal of moves, the easier all of it is as soon as you can "delete" and relearn a new principle built on things already built on. In summery advanced requires more than just understanding. It requires practice in basics to the point you can perceive what's happening when and why. Hope this helps as drex seems busy
