Great video. I really appreciate that you showed it was a push connection, in low visibility areas it can be hard to determine.

Tip: if you need to replace the O2 sensors after the catalytic converter for emissions B1/S2 or B2/S2 put the new O2 sensor in B1/S1 or B2/S1 which measure air/fuel ratio (if you have easy access to it), a new one will give you better fuel mileage, put the old working O2 sensor in B1/S2 or B2/S2 which only measure emissions and do not adjust air/fuel ratio..

Nice video and thank you. In my 2010 hemi WK, it wasn't that easy. Well, sensor 2, bank 1 was easy, the other three had the plugs buried up above the transmission and firewall. I was able to get Sensors 1, 2 bank 1, and sensor 2 bank 2 done, but sensor 1 bank 1 (passenger front) is impossible to get to without taking out the exhaust. I recommend just unbolting the exhaust from the header to the middle collector and do all four that way.

Fyi, for others watching I don't believe you have go through the "code find" process with a device. Prior to getting getting OBDII devices (when a check engine light came on), I turned the ignition off and WITHOUT fully starting the engine, turned the key in the ignition. So flip on & off THREE times to the position just before igniting engine to where you see the dashboard light up and hear all the beeps and it should clear the dashboard and show you the code (P####) where you would normally see the temperature, distance, tire pressure, etc. This was with an 05 GC 5.7L. I'm not sure the range of models and trim this worked on. However, a plug-in OBDII reader that connects to your smart is relatively cheap. I got one for $10 on Amazon. Since then, I have also purchased a handheld device which gives other pertinent information depending on how far you go into diy vehicle work. If I'm not mistaken, a device that plugs in is the only way to clear a code other than fixing the issue and driving enough miles for the computer to analyze and clear it itself. I have just recently jumped in diy stuff so if something is incorrect, please clarify. I don't care to be wrong, it's better to have as much correct info out there as possible for others to use.

Good, thorough video. Doing a bit of research, looks like there's either 2 or 4 O2 sensors depending on whether it's Federal or CA emissions compliant. Need to go look to see what I have. Thanks!

I’m having electrical problems due to what I belive is the 02 sensor If I reset the battery somthing makes it say clr distance 42,000 same number everytime ... that’s after resetting it . It should be zero . After I use a check engine reader to delete no codes since I just already reset it will go to zero and stay like that until next battery disconnect I feel like a sensor is sending extra voltage to system hesitates poor mileage and can’t floor it ..... I’ve tried everything ! Engine runs fine when it doesn’t misfire ....

My 2010 with the hemi has the sensors DIRECTLY on the body of the cats themselves. I can't get to either of them for the life of me. The connector is right almost on top of the tranny and that's even worse. This sucks.

I changed the rear back sensor on this 2005 Jeep Cherokee, but I get a PO 137 Code? which means I have to replace another sensor but which one? I didn't now the Jeep has 3 sensors and two small catalytic converters. AGAIN Only one catalytic converter has a rear sensor, so I replaced that one. My problem is which of two remaining sensors do I replace? each is located before its catalytic converter. The code is PO137, but it doesn't say which sensor to replace (Which Side)

@wes11bravo3 жыл бұрын
I'm still in the middle of trying to swap Bank 2 Sensor 1 on my '07 XK, and the process is orders of magnitude ridiculously more difficult than Sensor 2. The connector is virtually inaccessible, way up behind the engine, smashed between the firewall and the transmission dipstick tube.
@anthonyvillano49662 жыл бұрын
I removed my inner fender , cut the wire stay and was able to pull enough slack in the wire to to disconnect the sensor from the connector. Disconnecting was a bit difficult but reconnecting was rather easy. Don't forget to reconnect the wire connector to the dipstick to prevent it from making contact with the exhaust manifold.
