Thank you David for doing all these lessons - I am a complete beginner, and as a woman living alone, who cannot afford to pay a joiner or any trade for that matter, I am trying to learn as much as I can to attempt tom do a few projects around the house. So these small lessons are coming in really handy xxx

@@RusticDavid Thank you - they are awesome. I am working my way through them. I bought a saw for the first time a couple of days ago - OMG I was all over the place!!!!🤪. I do have a jig saw, but have never used a hand saw, I think I will go back to the jig saw, but at least I tried!!! What a sight I must have been!!!

Thank you for this video.. saw your video while searching some ideas how to build boxes. Missing my grandpa a lot, he can do carpentry/ electrical works, etc. I love watching him fix/ build things when I was a kid.. And at my age now (40's) and a mom, I realized I wanted to do the hammering 😊... He has tools and I wished to at least have some of it as a remembrance, but everything was taken by his youngest son when my grandpa passed, he took all of it without even informing any of his siblings / his mother. He is the meanest... 💔

Hi, the tools are nice to have but what you lernt from watching your grandfather cannot be taken away and the memories are forever continue building things and pass it on to your own children Happy woodworking David

Thanks for the video! Loved the simple explanations for us beginners. I was just wondering what one would do if they took off too much wood instead of too little like you demonstrated. Would shims be the best solution?
@RusticDavid2 ай бұрын
Hi Mike yes thin veneers to shim the difference would be a great solution as long as the thickness of the half lap doesn’t become too thin to be an effective joint .have a great weekend

Hi kimi this joint can work, with a wooden dowel (pin) to reinforce it In the corners a mortise and tenon would be best kzbin.info/www/bejne/harVm6SFaKeqicU good luck Happy Woodworking David

Thank you so much it is simple and also use hand held tools. But my question to you is can this be done with plywood? Thanks in advance
@RusticDavid5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ann it can be done with plywood cut shoulders first then you can either saw or chisel off the waste,glue is strong and a nail or dowel through the joint makes it stronger Happy Woodworking David

Instead can i use screws. It just seems quicker and easier
@RusticDavid Жыл бұрын
Hi Yes you can use screws if you have a drill to make pilot holes this will help prevent splitting, heres a link to a video explaining what i mean kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJyqlXmMi7dqp9k

Sir ,I just want to know how to make a wood shoe/chappals stand , please give any easy video trick's, I have some tools
@RusticDavid4 жыл бұрын
Hi Thalib, Thank you for your comment, it is a good topic for a video but may Take some time, meanwhile try making two ladders to the required width and height each rung spaced to fit shoes and the thickness of the wood used to place the shoes on, now connect the ladders with narrow wooden boards, you will need to nail or screw everything together, then to make it stable nail or screw two thin narrow boards on the back from corner to corner in an X good luck Best Wishes David

be man enough to handle the feedback if you’re going to upload videos onto a public website. there should be a law to ban all long mind numbing videos. why don’t you watch your own videos before you upload them and if you don’t fall asleep or break something then you should upload it. but if it pisses you off, then don’t upload it. do the right thing
