How to JOURNAL with a Travelers Notebook

The modularity of the TN is so key. I split my planning/tracking by time scale, so anything that's longer than a month goes into one insert that lasts me 3 years. My daily logs can fluctuate wildly in length, so my main planner insert can last 3-5 months depending on current usage. I also have a third insert for memory keeping. I love the flexibility and adaptability of the system.

Yes! I love TNs because they allow you to carry what's relevant in the present. The mix of short term and long term is an absolute must for me.

Great & informative video Jenny. I've been using a Passport size for about a year as my wallet, with a calendar insert & to do/quick notes. I had a separate notebook for my personal journal. A few days ago I bought a Standard size so I could have everything all in one as the passport was too small for my personal journal. I just prefer all in one rather than separate notebooks. I really love the TN system & have 4 inserts in my standard now plus the zippered folder. It fits perfectly in my messenger bag (Manbag) & goes everywhere with me. I don't leave home without it.

I love my TN! It’s just so perfect! And I don’t baby my camel cover, so the past five years have been making its mark on it! I only have one Standard and one Passport TRC cover, and I love them! In my TN I have the monthly, undated weekly (that I hop in and out of), and then a grid insert for a journal! It’s my happy place

Loved your video. I got a very similar one from a brand called Neorah. I'm using the notebook that came along for daily journaling and the TN for planning. I'm absolutely loving it.

I journal very similar, a mix between rapid logging and longform reflections. But these days I use a ringbinder in landscape mode and only use one side (the other side for doodles and photos) and every week I put my daily logs in different collections and index them after I’ve done that. My task list is my field notes and is always on me.

Hello, I have a few questions to ask!! Where did you get that metal clamp(?) thingy you had on the standard TN cover (where the band went over)? I have no idea what it's called and having a hard time finding it 😭 Also, which pen loop did you use?

@@cathyyoonjinkang9585 Hi! It’s called a Brass Tag, and this one’s by The Superior Labor. I got mine on Etsy from the inukshukjapan shop! I have a knockoff Leuchtturm pen loop but I’m not thrilled with it. It’s fraying!

@@KM-nq7hz Are you referring to the bump caused by the band that holds the TN closed? If so, a pencil board can help with that!

If you’re referring to the cardstock covers on the inserts, then you can find third party sellers that make their own inserts with smooth covers.

Attach a back insert to the cover and you wouldn’t see it
