I don’t know how old this video is, but you just saved my butt. I just got into town, went on an errand, and sat in my car with the lights on and the battery off. After about an hour, the car wouldn’t start. A kind stranger lent me his cables and with your video, I figured out how to get myself back on the road. Verry usefull video. Bought a older Toyota Auris recently and trying to find out how to do things. Question: If I put 12 volt on those connections, I should be able to open the trunk and access my dead 12 volt battery for replacement?

I came in here because I want to help someone who has the same problem as mine. Just recently my 2008 Prius went completely dead even after changing to a new battery. There was no life, nothing at all. I had to ask my friends to give me a jump. After watching many KZbin videos I found out that one of my fuse was gone. When you open the fuse box, at the right under C section, there are two blue no.15 fuses. I changed the second one from the top. After that I also had to tighten up my negative volt battery which is in the trunk attached to the back of the car. Make sure you unscrew the negative volt before putting on the new fuse. After that it came to life. Hope it helps someone.

It jumpstartes my car. Thank you. Question I have is that. Does it eat up gas if u leave it idle for quite some time? I left for university for a couple of months and left it with a full tank and I came back after 5 months and it jumpstarted and showed that I had no gas in it. And it died right after.

Putting the negative jump lead on there is what most people don't think of as if it does spark it's far away from the battery so will not blow up the battery.

At -10f the plastic fuse case under the hood is to brittle to open in the cold. Rear hatch is electronic only. Either I tow car just to warm it up to jump it or I wait for warmer weather? Maybe I will try charging into the cigar lighter outlet in the console. I hope that accessory outlet can take a small 10 amp charger.

Tried it with my jump battery - zero effect. Maybe because it was not fully charged? Charging it now and will try later again. When you connect jumpers to the plus and ground I assume you'll get some reaction from the car like some sounds or some light blinking on the control panel - my showed no reaction like there were no contact with terminals.

Hi good afternoon, enjoy your videos. I have a 2006 Prius, all my door locks are not working. The fob I replaced battery, no help, interior door locks inoperative. I was able to check the fuse number 11 it’s good, and I hear relay clicking under the dash every time I hit the lock unlock button. Also did change the master switch nothing same problem. Please help. Thank you again

dont forget [gen3] you are only powering up the dash,high voltage will start the engine,also fuse terminal may have a live side/safe side,make sure jumper clamp may have a live side. any help ?.

Its all like this. 1) You get into the car 2) Without depressing the brake pedal( as we usually do to start it), push the Start Button twice (2 times) 3) It will turn on all the lights and accessories in the vehicle but not the engine 4) Then you depress the brake pedal and shift and HOLD your gear to N (Neutral) 5) It will then be in Neutral Reminder: *Don't depress the brake pedal in Step 2 but do so in Step 4 *Remember to shift and hold your gear at neutral (2 seconds is best) Hope this helps. It'l be easier if you write this down and follow it step by step Greetings from Fiji.
