I'm a plasterer of 37 yrs and offer Krend work regularly. Just wanted to say I liked your video and this will help a lot of people to have a go at using a great product; Which is Krend. The old days of sand and cement render are over! The skill required to flatten and smooth off the old way was far beyond most have a go DIY people!👍

Thanks, no you don’t need to prime the blockwork if it’s new. If it’s been up a while I would put some primer on it, just to make sure. And if you can’t get 15 fill it out the add 10mm beads after otherwise it’s costing you a fortune in material and you find it works out to around 15 and you can’t tell also if feel it is in sufficient put the mesh through the whole scratch or the building to bind it giving in strength and flexibility can’t be a painful job when k rend is used when it is too thick and I have given myself arthritis from it and you find the more material the more pressure on your joints

that finish is shit . for starters you lay first coat on let it pick up then lay second coat on wait until dry but not too dry and you use an i frame to flatten everything out ,the spiked float is only for touching up and taking out any shineys looking at that work i could see high spots all over because he used a spiked float instead of an i frame.when you try to flatten off with a spiked float you end up with like dinner plates in the work where you have been scratching back too long in one area . but not a bad job for a back yard ,its out of sight

Hi Stuart, no the k rend isn’t bone dry when I scratch it. I have always left it over night. I know some people who put it on first thing and scratch it last thing. @@AnthonyParryPlastering Hi thanks for the reply Anthony.. I've done repairs but never a full wall... Having said that my job involves removing faux tudor cladding (1/3) of the front of the house then removing the cement around it. There are also 2 windows too so really there isn't much rendering to be done. I have been let down twice by people who have quoted but never turned up! Probably as its a fair bit of prep removing the wood. I was looking at the mono couche as opposed to cement as at least its ready mixed. I am having to remove the wood anyway as its rotting so it's going to be an improvement!! Thanks a lot for replying Brian

Buy yourself a spatula or an i bar pal just run that over it just before your brush gets rid of all the last imperfections and finds any remaining bulges also with the reveals use a 2inch trowel straight on or sideways and same again with the spatula after just to keep it straight to the door I do loads for k rend and you should use a few little extra stages your missing out and then k rend will give you the warranty For your work which not many people can actually do when doing k rend jobs which also looks better for you when pricing I suggest doing the k rend course not a lot of money and I think you can now do it in St. Helens may have to query that

don’t you want to lay on left to right on that first panel? come off your bead and fill it out 75% so you leave 5 mm for your top coat? then you arent laying a heavier coat on a base coat ?
