So much good information in your videos. I literally had a panic attack just watching Bonnie (I think was her name) flip over. I honestly have zero interest in paddling rapids, but I am trying to be prepared for unexpected things I may encounter on a river. Thank you for making these!

Thanks MissMichoS! Bonnie has had a few good swims...but she always bounces back and jumps right back in for more! She has improved so much.

Arnoldo taught me to sit and balance on an inflatable exercise ball with feet off the ground. This is super helpful in maintaining balance on the water.

If u have a long boat, u can also paddle sitting on the compartment behind the seat.

Another great video Pete, I was just thinking about trying the "charging arc" at the LVWWC this Saturday, as i was just finishing up editing my video when i noticed a good wave to try it on, I've only ever done it at a small weir so i need to get out of my confart zone, seeing you guys doing it has encouraged me more, as a side not, I have been trying the ferry glide with as little strokes as possible, i can get it down to 2, sometimes lol, keep up the good work, aka Bashy2.0 :)

Summers gone and I barely got on the water, winter is coming on where I can go ham on the paddles. Come spring when the fitness and basic skills are up I'll sign up for a whitewater kayaking course. Don't think I'll find that "you already know you messed up" laugh of yours though.

i learned a hard lesson yesterday. lol i was dumped twice and had to stop and dump my yak 6 times in a 5 mile run. i have a Jackson Tripper and run into 2 class 2 and some rough 1s. but the last 10 miles was fast and a good time. on the Elkhorn Creek KY. from the forks to the 2nd boat ramp at Still water camp ground.

Hey Pete. Great content, man! Doesn't P5 have an Antix 2.0? I have a size small and I am looking for air bags. I have been told the Jackson Creek float is too big and their Fun Float is too small. I'm wondering if people are having success with another brand of bags fitting in it. I am looking to get on some creeks this summer.
@RiverKingsKayak5 ай бұрын
Yes, he has an antix 2.0. For the longest time I just had the bag from my old Jackson Rocker in there and it did fantastic. Currently I think there are a couple small stern bags in there.

Hello River Kings, do you have a recommendation for a kayak that is suitable for a larger person? Maybe in the $1000 range. I’m 6’2” 350 pounds. I would like to start kayaking for exercise. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and need to loose weight before replacements are an option. Would you recommend sit-in or sit-on top? I used to recreationally kayak quite a bit but have not in many years. I put the weight on about four years ago after retiring from LE and have been basically just piddling around the house since then. I live close to the Catawba River and am grateful for the video you did. Thank You!

A good sit on top would be more comfortable and easier to enter and exit...but they are heavier and come with reduced performance comparatively. I recommend demoing a few to see what works for you...
