Just want to add that keeping calm around bees is key. They sense fear in a way of aggression and react the same way that dogs will.

Very informative and concise. I am planning on starting a bee friendly garden from scratch...any recommendations on what flowers to plant? I'm in Sydney, Australia. Also, is there some sort of Bee Keepers Guild you may know of in NSW that I can buy my bees and kit from?

I do have a quick question. Can the hive have a new queen, to produce a new hive? How do future generations keep the hive going/ alive? Will I need to outsource for a new one?

I love bees, they are the most important insect in the world. Even in the Bible ,GOD says to bring his people to the land of milk and honey. And bees are the only living thing that creates honey. Milk for us to drink by several animals, cows, goats, ect. Tho they are also important as for meat and milk. There are some people whom do not eat of ,or from any animals, including honey from bees or milk ,or even eggs, but thats just crazy to me, being we were created to do just that. Just as lions eat only meat ,and giraffes eat only leaves. Its all part of this great and magical Earth that was created just for us by GOD. bless you for sharing your information to help those wanting to know how and learn to provide for their families. And not depend on the poisons they are putting in their fake food. Or more and more with gmo's. Genetically modified organisms. Thats showing up on thousands of store bought food labels now.

So I have a few dumb questions... If I have a bee hive just hanging out in my yard, can I collect those wild bees and convert them to a man made hive as long as I can find the queen? Also, in Wisconsin, it gets SUPER cold in the winter. Do they hibernate in very cold climates?
@podgardening9 ай бұрын
Hi you can put a swarm into your hive as long as the queen is in there somewhere. In the winter most of the bees huddle around the queen. Often bee keepers feed their bees with sugar solution if there is not enough honey in the hive.

great video, your bees were very calm. Is it cool there?

Do you find you get stung a lot going this? Or do they get used to you?
@podgardening3 жыл бұрын
It can depend on what you give off I think in terms of how relaxed you are. Also the type of bees can be relevant - these were Carnolian bees which have a reputation for being reasonably calm and even-tempered!
