Thanks for the recommendations. I just took out the cushions for my patio furniture and mice chewed through 4 of them. Also destroyed our hammock. Definitely doing this moving forward

I've always had good luck with these products. Mice can definitely destroy a lot of things around the house..

I agree the exact same shelf products I have used for over 1year in shed and no mice. What I did was use 1 or dryer sheet sprinkle cinnamon powder and pettermint/ extract oil and rolled up tightly with a small piece of tape and put anywhere the was a opening. Video was good info on point thanks

I have had no luck with bounce sheet with no luck. I put in fresh sheets this past spring all over my sled. I had them around the sled and under the hood. I check it a month of so later and found they had ripped the dryer sheets up and made a nest in the air box of the sled. I will try the peppermint idea though .

Maybe the dryer sheets didn't smell enough to keep them away. I use the peppermint bags in my trailer to keep the mice out of the sleds too. Good luck and let me know how it works.

Cats definitely help with the mouse population if you allow them to roam outdoors. I have 4 cats that originated from one pregnant stray. They're all indoor/outdoor. A neighbor had a chalkboard in his home with a "Mouse vs James" scorecard, listing multiple years. He had like 20-30 mice a year. He pointed it out to me, and said, since you got cats i only came across one mouse in all of last year. Somehow the cats always constantly have another mouse, and they eat them after a long play! Side note: Every once in a while I'll put small amounts of diatomaceous earth in the cats' food to rid any worms they get from eating wild creatures.

Where did you get the peppermint scent? I’ve also herd mint works well as repellent. I may try that.

I have an affiliate link in the description below for the product I use. I haven’t tried mint yet, but I assume it’ll work too. Anything with that strong minty smell.

The first time I ran into that problem with mice nests in a mower engine shroud was on my own mower . I smell something burning then turned around to see smoke from engine the mouse nest was smoldering . I took cap off of gastank and the gas was actually boiling . Luckily I caught it in time when motor cooled down I cleaned out mouse nest changed oil And motor was ok

That’s good you were able to catch it. Not a lot of people know how to take care of their own equipment.

One time I bought three snapper rear engine riding mowers for parts . I got all three for 50 bucks . All three had blown engines due to mice nests in under the motor shrouds causing them to overheat . The blocked the air flow they are air cooled . Some people just don’t have a clue
@SmackeysGarage3 жыл бұрын
Wow. You would think they would have smelt the overheating mice nest and shut down the engine. It’s very noticeable!

Thanks for the tips, I just had a experience where rodents chewed wires in my car and it cost some $$ to get it fixed. They are in my garage and will get these products and hopefully it will keep them away.
@SmackeysGarage2 жыл бұрын
No problem. I had the same issue you did with the car and mice. I ended up blocking all of the places where I thought the mice could get in, and then put these products near each previously open area. Good luck!

I purchased wide two sided tape. I put it across all the door openings and around my bike and mowers in my shed. Kinda barbaric but they don’t go near my stuff.
@SmackeysGarage Жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea. Whatever works to keep them out.

What kind of tape? This sounds really good. I'm asking because i live in Sweden so i want to buy the correct tape. Thanks in advance. 🙋♀️

@@Linda.F it’s a 3M product. I think I purchased it on Amazon. Two sided. Put it around the bike. Caught mice….no bike issues. Good luck!!
