This is awesome! My quail eggs are going to hatch very very soon, and this has helped me so much. I’ve only ever done this once, so I honestly didn’t know anything. Big thumbs up!

Thank you! This really helped!!! Because we found a baby quail walking around at the park in AZ so we checked for it’s Moka or siblings but none were around so we took it home fed it some lil crumbs of oatmeal and water and got a warm lamp next to the cardboard box with a sepweater in it! We had no idea what it wanted case it kept chirping and it had lil spots of blood we believe on the tissues but it looked like it was fine but we’re going to talk to a vet or someone who knows about it!

How did you make the hole in the bucket? What size hole? What size pipe and fittings ? It would be helpful if you list the tools and equipment used in making the waterer system.

@Quail Mom. Many thanks, I've been looking for "do quails fly" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Eeyila Rudimentary Expediency - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is an awesome one off guide for discovering how to raise healthy and fertile quail minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got excellent results with it.

I'm Still Loving your current series! However, instead of PVC piping I am seriously considering food grade plastic tubing for my water conduits. This Way they're easier to plumb, not nearly as many parts, and I can easily see when they need cleaning!
@quailmom18106 жыл бұрын
JR Bailey Great idea! Are you thinking about something like the waterer from the Wynola Ranch cage in my video? Especially if you can keep the tube from sunlight to prevent algae. Thanks for still loving this quail series!
@jrbailey32086 жыл бұрын
Quail Mom I'm not sure that I really like those watering cups, with the yellow nipples inside, I think I'm tending towards the bigger bowl style that actually maintains at least 1/3 to 1/2 water content. I live in very low humidity, hot summer geography of the high plains of the Rocky Mountains, we actually have Cactus here, even though we are in the middle of the Rocky Mountains! Winter would be a different ball of wax, but then I intend to have the birds in a heated environment, inside, rather than outside. I'm also going to do the black soldier fly thing, as well as mealworms, so I can provide super quality high protein for my birds! Thank you again for a very educational series, I am really enjoying it! Cheers from Central Wyoming
@quailmom18106 жыл бұрын
JR Bailey I’m using one cup that doesn’t have the middle yellow part. I like it so far. I can’t quite figure out how it works yet. Maybe as the quail drink, they put weight on it and water comes out? Place them in a heated place is wise during the winter.
@jay903744 жыл бұрын
PVC is food grade plastic. Never needs cleaning if light is kept out, just flushed once or twice a year. 😀

When using plumbers tape you need to.actually stretch the tape so.it adheres. Just winding each layer around without stretching will result in slippage and leaking. You need to apply pressure when stretching just a bit for the tape to.make a good adherence. Watching the.video you were just winding without stretching and the tape was slipping off as you lightly wound it around. It's a waste.of take and you risk leaking. All professionals know to stretch the tape just a bit white wrapping it around and anything.less can result in leaming and mold growth and so put a little stretch as you wind your tape. Anything less is just amateurish.
