In this video I show you step-by-step how I set up my acrylic paint palette so that my paint stays wet for days! This technique has allowed me to work on a painting over the course of a few weeks without having to remix my colours every time.

Melissa, there is a Masterson palette with a lid for which you can buy the accompanying sponge and special paper, it is their Stay Wet palette version. And then no need to mess with paper towels Etc. Also I am primarily an oil painter and I have learned with acrylics that a micro mister spray bottle is the best thing for rewetting paints or keeping them damp on your canvas! The drops are so much smaller than a regular spray bottle so no drips and no flaking of the paint. Get a Masterson's stay wet palette.... Jerry's Artarama has them.

After watching your video, I bought one of those disposable aluminum baking pans that comes with a lid and it worked brilliantly using your technique. Thanks.

Girl this is a whole invention. Get something like this manufactured. P.S. I don't paint (yet). But this seems like a wonderful solution to me. Hoping you pursue this idea sis! Wishing you many blessings! I'm a fan of your work. 💗

can you link the container you use from michael's for your palette? and also do you ever save leftover paint if there's a decent amount left that you didn't use?

This was so helpful. I've used the brand name version of this and so good to know I can put together my own version so inexpensively. Thanks so much!

You can buy canvases in bulk from Amazon. They should have them in that size too.

My hat off to you for working with acrylic, I find it such a challenge to work with. Really clean video recordings, and very informative Sister. What camera did you use to record this video?

Great info, Melissa. Thanks! Before colored pencil, I was working in thick acrylics. This might get me back to them. I love your can-do empowered spirit. Always keep that, it's a gift. Much love and light from Louisiana.

Thank you so much for showing us how to make a bomb stay wet palette! I was wondering if you could tell me what exact paint you used to create that lovely pink? It looks like you started with a Quinacridone magenta and possibly a cadmium red? Then you added another pink, like a rose pink? Not sure. I’m working on getting different types of pink mixes and sometimes a nice bright almost fuscia pink mix or brighter pink mixes eludes me. Lol!

Melissa, great video as always! Canvas suggestion, have you looked at jerrysartarama.com? I think they ship to Canada. They have a huge selection of canvas and always have a great sale on them also. Much cheaper than Michaels and brand name canvases. Of course, there's free shipping in the US so that may be a drawback for you in Canada.
