This is the solution I've been looking for. I would love to see the process of wiring in detail and an explanation of each step (including reconnecting the batteries and in what order you reattached all wires) as I could not really see everything you were doing. Thanks so much!

You skipped over the final bit of fitting the pads. Did you simply cut off the (approximately) one inch strip that went beyond the side panel or did you fold it over on to the rear side of the battery. I live in Alaska, and these pads could be critical to my use of this type of battery (as cold is the norm here)! So, I appreciate the video and your input. It is a great thing to be able to share like you do. How much do the pads drain the battery? There are a few months I use the camper a lot less often than I would like, but I am near mains power, so I could simply use a transformer during that period. Still an idea of the current drain would be good (from real a use perspective rather than just the package label.

How many watts are those pads?

Nice video. I don’t see the switch you used in the list of items? Did you use a really?

I just used a switch I had lying around. It does have an indicator. No relay because it’s a small power draw, but they did have an inline fuse.

How well did they work?

They’ve worked beautifully. No issues! 😉

@@thesouthwestwanderers that’s great to know. The switch you used is a 10 amp? I want a switch on mine too. I don’t need it all the time but there will be times I do.

I did not do enough research and almost caused a major disaster. I purchased regular lead acid battery heating pads from GM. Lead acid heating pads can not be used on lithium batteries. They get too hot and can cause a fire or explosion. I caught my mistake before it did too much damage.

Oh my goodness, so glad you caught the error before anything could happen. Research is key, lots and lots of research. Lou's great at that thankfully!

After I removed the burned straps and melted wires, I noticed it warped the battery cases. I will have to dispose of these batteries now. I don’t trust using them. Lord only knows what damage it did to cells and electronics inside.
