I’ve been watching this channel for months (since I was about three months into Etsy), and this is the most useful Etsy channel on KZbin. Because of his advice I was able to go from 30 sales to almost 500 sales in about 4 months. So glad I found this channel

Such a good tip. I've been binge watching you for the last few weeks. I tried this a week ago on a few listings to see if it made a difference. The listings I changed are getting traffic from search engines while the ones without photo tags are only getting Etsy traffic. Your channel is my Etsy bible 😂

Hi Nick, after reviving my Etsy store and watching your videos last summer, I faded away a bit, but now I'm back and just want to say you're the best, so glad I've tuned in to you again - I'm going to stick around this time and really get my Etsy shop going - also plan to get regular sales with help like this video (and the rest!) from you. Most other Etsy KZbinrs only want to sell you something in the end, but now - thanks to you - I've got some meaningful work to do in the morning putting this list of tips into action - and it's free! Fantastic, really appreciate what you do and how you do it - so straightforward, plus your videos are never too long!👍

Your titles/tags video hit me between the eyes, and here are some more things I can do to enhance my store. I know my shop is too good to be doing so poorly, so I will start working on these tips to keep Etsy involved. Thanks so much for your great advice, best I've heard online.

Good tips, as always! I did want to comment that I currently have my 1 year old store set to manual renewals, specifically to force me to visually go over each and every listing as it comes up for renewal. I check for views, sales, etc, and then (if needed) update whatever needs help - photos, tags, title, description, image alt tags. When I had it on auto-renew, these things would just not get done. So I find manual renew an easy way to keep my listings updated without it becoming overwhelming.
@etsyconsultant Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input here. Yes this is fine from a practicality point of view, but if it goes out of stock you are breaking the sales history and lowering your listing quality score, so bear that in mind.

Hi Nick! I found your channel just a week ago and I make sure I watch one video per day. My goodness I have learned more in this past week than I have for the past two years. This particular video is a goldmine. I saw one of your replies that said even if you don’t have twenty of an item in inventory to put twenty anyway. That scares me but I’m going to follow your lead. 😂. Question: I read or heard in someone else’s channel to renew all your listings every three weeks. Your comments on this is much appreciated. I would love to have you critique my store but not until I get 100 items in there ! (I only have 31). I am a pattern designer but also carry supplies. Not enough though. That is what I’ll be working on . Thank you for channel. It is most helpful.

What is your specific recommendation for seasonal items? Should they be deactivated, or does one need to remove them completely from the shop? Also same Q. in regards to poor sellers? TY!

Hi Nik. I always value your videos because you give the best advice for our Etsy store. However in this video and under point #4 you emphasize the importance of having duplicate listings. As an artist, I am puzzled about that. I feel is like asking Leonardo da Vinci to dublicate the Mona Lisa. How can I dublicate my inspiration? How can I design a piece of jewelry and make it 10-20 times? The dublicate listings is very challenging to me. However, I will wait for your advise... Thank you again for a superb video.

I try to implement as much of your advice as possible and recently, after 21 days from starting my adventure with etsy, I managed to sell my first digital product. I thank you for that! Question about the video: Is there any difference between: 1. Copying the "old" offer, changing a few words/tags/photos and deleting the "old" and publishing a new one. and 2. Editing an existing offer, changing tag photos etc. without creating a new offer? I am asking because I learn new things every day and I have edited all my offers many times and changed the description/photos/tags/uploaded the corrected files from scratch etc.

Hi, new listings start off with neutral quality score, existing listings are either positive if they are selling, or negative if they do not sell, so there is a difference.

When should you decide or know if your shop should be started over or needs revamped?
@etsyconsultant Жыл бұрын
There is no exact point this decision can be made, but there are plenty of ways to help you decide. The best basic marker is asking yourself if you are happy with your sales, and if you are looking for a technical marker, then here are 2: 1 One sale per day is a good base to aim for in terms of quality score. 2 More sales than inventory that you have in your store.

Glad to have found your channel. I’ve been plugging away at my pod shop for an embarrassingly long time with nothing much to show for it. I was delighted to hear your strategy of 10 listing in 5 days as I am in the throes of implementing it myself already. So validation is great and your post is really energising. Thanks. I’m definitely going to follow all 10 suggestions.

I'm curious about the advice here where you recommend copying and republishing 2-5 listings a day for dead listings and also ones that have sold. Doesn't this directly contradict your previous advice of the 1 a day listing plan? Is one a day no longer adequate or recommended by you? Thanks for the vid as always Nik!
@etsyconsultant Жыл бұрын
Hey Hot Sauce, no this is specific advice to kick start a problematic store, and is not general advice, which the 1 a day listing plan is.

What about the "About" section if you're doing POD only? Unless the print provider has footage or photos we can use, what else can we do for the "about" section? Designing is really the majority of what I'm personally doing for the shop.

WOW I subscribed immediately once I watched this video. Why? Because this one video gave me TEN new insights into how to goad the Etsy traffic & search machine to give my store(s) more traffic. The value you gave is 10x ANY OTHER Etsy related video I've seen before yours, and I've seen a LOT of videos about how to crack getting Etsy sales. Most of these apply equally to all other online marketplaces, ebay, amazon kdp and pod, etc etc. Great video. THANK YOU

Great stuff! I have so many action items from this video. One thing I struggle with is making process videos/images because all my work is done digitally. Any ideas on how to get content for that kind of business? My computer desktop isn't too interesting.
@etsyconsultant Жыл бұрын
Hello Trent, great question. It depends on the type of products you are selling, but generally you can use a site like Canva to create process photos and videos for your Etsy about page. Even a well done slide show is better than nothing, and Etsy requires text, photo, and video to complete your about page.

I had a meeting cancelled today so guess what I'm doing :) Thanks for the tips. I have one listing in drafts waiting to be published and another design ready to list. I have a lot to do but these are great tips. I've written them all down and will start implementing the changes I need to make as soon as I finish commenting here. I've even created a notebook just for your tips. I love checking out your videos to see what suggestions you give next. Quick question. Do you recommend using comma's in your listing title or leave the words running together? Thanks so much for these videos. You provide stellar advice. Practical, achievable and you're so full of encouragement. Thank you.
@etsyconsultant9 ай бұрын
Thank for the feedback, I appreciate it, yes I would use commas, it makes things easier to read.
@graftedingrace65949 ай бұрын
@@etsyconsultant thank you very much. Another Etsy KZbinr recommended no commas so I changed all my listings but nothing really happened so I'll change them back to comma's. Thank you. I really appreciate your tips.

Here is a question for you. Which type of niche is better: subject niches or product niches? For example, a subject niche could be all about Pug dogs. The listing would be anything about Pugs: Shirts, mugs, digital prints of Pugs and could even be Pug shaped cookie cutters. An example of a product niche could be custom cookie cutters. Every type of shape could be made into a cookie cutter here: animal shapes, car shapes, weapon shapes and even pug shaped cutters. I would call these, broad and shallow vs tall and narrow. What are the different challenges with these two types of niches and which one is best?
@etsyconsultant Жыл бұрын
Hey Larry, thanks for your question. I could spend a long time talking about this one, but to be brief, your cookie cutters would be an easier sell because it's a physical product you made. The pug dog example would invariably go on POD products, and you would be entering a much more saturated market. The main challenge is market competition, and the cutters would have less.

Just found you & I will be working on the 10 items this week. I do have a question about "Long tail" in titles...what exactly is a long tail word????
@etsyconsultant Жыл бұрын
Hi there Irene, thanks for your comment. Long tail keyword is one which is made up of more than one word, for example 'women's minimal silver bracelet'. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for this invaluable advice. I took so much away from this. We're just getting started with POD and it has felt a little daunting. We want to move beyond POD and offer other products but chose to start with POD. We had no about page and all the listings were set to manually renew ... which we'll be correcting. I'm not sure yet how to do videos for the POD products, but looking into it. Thanks again... I hope we can do a consult with you in the near future so we can make sure we're building a store and a brand that will be successful.
