Great advice Julia! Blackbeard algae are a scourge if not kept in check. Sodium hypochlorite or bleach is an excellent treatment for accessories, but then the cause must be eliminated with the advice you have explained. Good day

I've never heard to triple the dose and turn the filter off before. Interesting and neat tips, Julia, I hope you have a nice weekend! 🙂👍

Like 13 Julia the way I remove black beard was to dip the in take and out put in a bucket of water with one Of bleach, it turns the black beard red instantly after I rinsed everything in a bucket, it was a scary way of doing it because I had it on some of my plants as well but it’s such a small dose of bleach that it don’t harm them because you’re literally dipping it in for one second and taking it out that was the quickest way I did it, I did have a video on it along time ago, but, how to remove it because I had some copyright music in it, your dad was the one that told me about bleach, I did it, and it worked if I’m not mistaking he helped me out on a live stream while I was doing it. Great video good tips.

Just gave it a go in my 20 and 90 gallon tanks. Fingers crossed! And good note about adding the extra bubblers.

Glad this worked out for you. And appreciate your enthusiasm. PS: Where did you get the triple dose idea? Just your intuition or...?

Thank you! I did some research on it and spoke to a friend who also did it with his tank!

This is so weird as I'm in the UK and I've never had or know anyone that has had bba ever in their tanks but a lot of American youtubers and Canadians talk about this, I wonder if it has anything to do with different water supplies and chemicals that go into them or something else?...I would love to know!

okay wouldn't it still die if you remove just your filter pad then you wouldn't have to worry about letting that tub soak for 2 hours and you would still be adding oxygen into the water
@TommysTanks Жыл бұрын
Your fish should be good without oxygen for 2 hours. Especially if you have plants in your tank. Taking apart your filter would be a lot more work, but you can do that if you want!

I'm someone struggling with BBA heavily right now. What about this is misinformed, in your opinion? You would advise against doing this?
