I found the new rules pretty easy to read and follow. The only feedback I'd offer is that the related concepts of visible, intervening, cover and obscuring would have benefited from being in a logical order rather than alphabetically in core concepts section (that was only something like 3 pages anyway)

You should watch videos like that after not instead of reading the rules for yourself. Learning game rules as an oral tradition leads to a lot of misconceptions (that get further propagated) in my experience. And to a lot of questions that are perfectly answered in the rules but not in the headcannon of a person who only listened to an explanation like this (excellent and comprehensive though it may be :))

This is great, thanks for making this! The easier the game is made to get into, the bigger the community and the more support it will (should?) get :) Also there is something strange\sucky about the Portable Barricade - It's tall enough that the vast majority of models will be unable to draw a visibility line to any models in front of it, which means it's pretty much impossible to use as cover against a target you intend to shoot. Maybe it's primarily intended for melee operatives to safely close the distance?

Thanks for the comprehensive guide! I just started playing with the new rule and still being slow in going through the game. One question, regarding Vantage and Heavy and Obscure - what would happen if the intervening heavy terrain is attached to my structure, but the enemy shooting me is on a different vantage point that is of the same height, and I'm 2" away from my heavy terrain? Example: - B is shooting A - Both A and B are on vantage terrains, but they are different pieces of terrains - A's terrain has a heavy wall that is between the two operatives, and is 2" away from A, and that wall is attached to A's vantage terrain - this heavy wall is intervening between B and A -- but since the rule says that any heavy terrains attached to vantage is ignored, does that mean that = when B shoots A, B is NOT obscured by this wall? I thought this rule was written so that - when an operative is on a vantage point is shooting at someone below (or vice versa) the wall of the building below the vantage does not obscure either of them. But the rule never specifies what would happen if both operatives are on the same height.

@@amc6354 that does appear to be the case, as the targeting lines pass through the floor to them, and only the attached 'heavy' is ignored for obscuring.

Do you need a wall to climb up or can you also get onto the vantage points from inside the building? What if they are more than 3" higher over the operatives base? Hight is measured from the base, not the head, right?

This would be a little grey, but i do feel like the measurement would come from the bottom of the base (but a TO, QA or a decision made amongst friends would override this of course). And yes, you would need a wall if you don't have something within 3" of that. Unless an item changes that, which might not be the case anymore as climbing equipment and grapnels don't claim climb can occur from any distance anymore.
