All other Kill Team “how to” videos I found assumed the player was familiar with/already played 40k. No explanation of all the little details to actually get a game of Kill Team started - like how many dice you need. This video is fantastic for those of us who have just now taken our first hit of 40k after SM2 and have no clue how the game works.

Almost perfect. Accurate 1 is only gained when shooting a target with an engage order. The rules for vantage no longer seem to be written as though an Operative on vantage treats those 2"lower "as if they had an engage order". Correct me if i am wrong. Also the video seems to be edited as if the focus in the last section covering vantage is meant to again be on the mini's. Instead it is on Glass.

You're right that accurate 1 is only against ENGAGED operatives! But yes, you can 100% shoot an enemy on conceal if they're 2" below you and in light terrain (which is the same as it was in the last edition. 3rd paragraph page 60)

It's very beginner, I know, but if someone doesn't do it, then it's kind of like saying "you can only play Kill Team if you're coming from 40k where they DO explain the basics"

@@TacticalSkew Oh, I know. It's sometimes easy to forget for experienced players like us that we weren't born with the knowledge of dice and 40k terminology. You can't understand calculus without first learning how numbers work. Still, I expected to skip the parts dealing with the obvious stuff (i.e. most of the video), and I ended up watching the whole thing. That's a good tutorial there.

Hi, Love these videos, i'm extremely grateful for such a clear explanation as i'm just learning how to play! I do have a question tho.... at 18:26, the tempestus chooses to block the vespid attack, but he does so with a dice roll of only 3 and if you look at his save roll on his datacard at 17:53 he has a 4up save. Am i missing something here, how can he block an attack using a roll of 3 when his save roll is only 4? Is this something to do with it being a retaliation fight or something like that? Many thanks!!

This is what I found from the official site "Datacard packs are optional, and all team rules will be available for free online on Warhammer Community and the Kill Team rules reference app." My guess is that when the new edition release ,they will launch an app and also update their site .

Just for clarification. When fighting, as soon as an operative has its wounds reduced to zero - it is incapacitated and the fight ends immediately? I ask because, what if an enemy operative has only 2 wounds left. I charge and fight - dealing 3 wounds with the first, unblockable dice ... is the enemy incapacitated immediately, removed from play and the fight ends? OR, they fight out all of the dice, and even in death, the enemy could deal damage back to me in the fight?

Really helpful video! One question, you said the teams both start with 3 CP. On p110 it says when you select operatives both sides get 2CP and then I guess in each strategy phase you gain 1, or, starting with TP2, 2CP if you don't have initiative?

You can be on a conceal order when out in the open, yes, but it won't have any effect on stopping the enemy from shooting you, if so!

To be honest, I wasn't very happy with the way "Glass Half Dead" went. So I'm more than happy with this "reboot". Great vid! Consider rolling your dice in an extra tray so that the dice don't interact with the kill zone.

GHD is its own thing and I want to keep it going as a relaxed chat channel, which won't be to everyone's liking. A dice tray takes away from the effect I wanted in a tutorial. Of course, they're easier to see in a tray, but we need to introduce people to the game in a fun way, and rolling dice on the board LOOKS nice, a blending of mechanics and theme in a very literal sense. I always use a dice tray in real games, not to worry.

You said an objective is a 40 mil marker, do you mean 40 millimetres?... A mil is just less than 1/40th of a millimetre, so a 40 mil marker is about 1mm, which seems pretty small, unless making it hard to find is the point?..
