How to knit a beanie hat, free pattern

How to knit a 2x2 rib beanie hat in any size.
I demonstrate how to cast on and how to knit the 2x2 rib which is knit and purl stitches.
Yarn used is double knitting (UK) and I used size 4 (UK) needles.

Child sizes. length of hat body
2/4yrs - 72. 18 cm
5/8yrs - 84. 20 cm
9/12yrs - 96. 23 cm
teens - 108. 25 cm
Adult - 120. 28 cm
decrease rows are the same for each hat
K2. P2 tog rep to end
work 3 rows in new rib pattern
K2 tog P1 rep to end
work 3 rows on 1x1 rib
K1 slip 1 K2 tog pass slip stitch over rep to end
cut yarn with enough length to sew side seam and draw yarn through remaining stitches
sew side seam.
