I am a Newby knitter. I've tried for years to learn to knit, but couldn't. I crochet everything. I came across your wonderful videos and thought, I'm going to give it another go..........I just finished making the front panel! Thank you for sharing. I am a crocheter as well and this pattern was perfect for my first project! I had to redo the front panel a couple times but it came out beautifully! I even adjusted the rows to create a cropped version. I will definitely continue to use this pattern to create other pieces because it is a great foundation on how to knit a sweater!

how many balls of yarn did you use?
@falseeuphoria9612 жыл бұрын
@@rachel5064 I’m not exactly sure because this was a while back, but I actually used this pattern with a different neckline so my measurements would be off. I made this into a turtle neck rather than the V neck and used the recommended amount of yarn that the brand tells you to use. This is on almost every brand of yarn under the brand name and under the mini sweater icon.

When I started the first row of purl and knit, and then followed the second row, I really had to trust the process. I was convinced I was doing it wrong and the purl and the knits wouldn't align properly. But this video is the definition of trust the process, and as long as i followed your guide of purling the purls and knitting the knits, it somehow aligned perfectly. *PHEEEW*

How would this translate with a smaller yarn and needles? Of course I'd follow a larger pattern size as I know it would come out smaller. What I'm concerned with is my 10inch needles not holding all the stitches I need.
@dianeespinoza86472 жыл бұрын
They won’t hold all the stitches, I notice that straight needles are not that costly it would be worth it to invest in the proper tools rather than deviate from the pattern without experience you might fail and that is a lot of work to undo.

I've been following this pattern faithfully (but as a beginner knitter, it's taken me a year -- I'm almost done!)...And I've started the V-neck. Your tutorial is VERY helpful, but I wonder what I've done wrong. The first side of the V-neck (following your instructions to the letter) looks like a beautiful edge. Now, the second side of the V-neck (following your instructions) the "border" on the V looks like a single row (whereas the border on the first side looks like a double-row border). Clearly, I've done something wrong. But I can't figure out what. I'm OK with just having a lopsided V-neck border. :-)
@sneha.godse514 Жыл бұрын
The same thing happened to me - it's because the pattern calls for k2tog for both sides of the v-neck. To do the 'double row border' on both sides you need to replace all the k2tog with a ssk on the left side of the 'v'.( there are lots of tutorials for the ssk on yt)

@naoisek Жыл бұрын
Maybe I’m doing something wrong but in the pattern it doesn’t specify how many rows of stockinette to complete for the body of the jumper? It just says ‘row 9 to (46)48(50,52,54,56,58)- repeat rows 7 and 8. Where should it say how many rows??
@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hi Naoisekeohane, we don't know what size jumper you are making - but those are numbers of the rows - so from row 9 to row 46 (or 48. 50, 52 etc) so you just need to see which size you are making at the top of the pattern to see which one of those numbers is for you - XS S M L XL 2XL 3XL - so just match the number with the size and that gives you the rows - so if you are knitting a L, for example, it would be from 9-52, if you were knitting an XL, it would be from row 9 to row 54. I hope that helps! Kindest knitting wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x

@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hey there,The numbers in the pattern show which row you would start from, depending on the size you are making, so for a XS you would knit until Row 35 and then start the shaping (which is the same for all sizes) from ROW 36 :) Let us know, if there are any more questions and Happy making!🥰

Hi there, i didn't have the right yarn around or size needles, so i took some scrap yarn which we call in south africa chunky. We cant find many types of yarn so 100% acrylic had to do. I used a 5,5mm needles with your XL pattern..i have knitted the front so far, it is the size of a i would say 5-6 year old..which is nice..but i am a bit worried you have not included in your video on how to do the back and the ribbing for the neck. As a beginner I am very nervous because i have never knitted with round needles. And since this will be a kids jumper how would i structure the sleeves to be just plain. Please can you help me i really dont have a cooking clue

Thanks so much for your comment. The jumper does not have a ribbed neckline or ribbed cuffs, so you can just follow the video step by step to complete it :) Happy making!🧡🥰

@@lovecraftscom thanks...there is another pattern on the PDF file I downloaded a pink and violet one, is that a different jumper or just one with extras...that was what I was wondering..but I really am enjoying this since it will be my first by myself.. I have been following your one so far step by step... I must thank you as well for your response most people just leave their knitters questions hanging. They never answer. Which is rather annoying

Hi !! Do i need to do anything different as a left hander ? Do i use the second v-neck instructions first or do as normal ?
@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hey there and thank you so much for reaching out. Some left handed makers can also follow instructions shown by a right handed maker, so you could definitely give it a go. 🧡Once you have completed the V-neck shaping, you should move on to the neckline decreases. Let us know if you needed different or more specific info 🥰

Can I use circular needles if I don’t connect? Thank you 😊
@lovecraftscom2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cheryl - absolutely YES you can! Sometimes it's so much easier on your hands when you are knitting something longer to use circulars as if they were straight needles. Kindest knitting wishes from Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx

my issue is i keep forgetting if i did a knit or purl so it keeps getting messed up

Hey there! Yes that can be a bit of a tricky one. There is a way to identify the 2 different stitches. Here is a link to one of our guides, which might be useful: www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/c/article/how-to-purl-stitch/ Happy making❤️🥰
