I am a Newby knitter. I've tried for years to learn to knit, but couldn't. I crochet everything. I came across your wonderful videos and thought, I'm going to give it another go..........I just finished making the front panel! Thank you for sharing. Your instruction`s are excellent and love, love, love the heart bubble between segment's. Always put a smile on my face ☺.

I am a crocheter as well and this pattern was perfect for my first project! I had to redo the front panel a couple times but it came out beautifully! I even adjusted the rows to create a cropped version. I will definitely continue to use this pattern to create other pieces because it is a great foundation on how to knit a sweater!

how many balls of yarn did you use?
@falseeuphoria961
@falseeuphoria961 2 жыл бұрын
@@rachel5064 I’m not exactly sure because this was a while back, but I actually used this pattern with a different neckline so my measurements would be off. I made this into a turtle neck rather than the V neck and used the recommended amount of yarn that the brand tells you to use. This is on almost every brand of yarn under the brand name and under the mini sweater icon.

When I started the first row of purl and knit, and then followed the second row, I really had to trust the process. I was convinced I was doing it wrong and the purl and the knits wouldn't align properly. But this video is the definition of trust the process, and as long as i followed your guide of purling the purls and knitting the knits, it somehow aligned perfectly. *PHEEEW*

Hi, thank you for the really helpful video, your voice is so calming! Made my first jumper 😊 My wool wasn't as thick so I just put two balls of wool together to make a thicker yarn. I did find that the sleeves came out quite short even though I added the ribbed cuffs on the ends. Don't know if this is just the style of this jumper? Would be helpful to see the completed jumper being worn at the end of the video x

How would this translate with a smaller yarn and needles? Of course I'd follow a larger pattern size as I know it would come out smaller. What I'm concerned with is my 10inch needles not holding all the stitches I need.
@dianeespinoza8647
@dianeespinoza8647 2 жыл бұрын
They won’t hold all the stitches, I notice that straight needles are not that costly it would be worth it to invest in the proper tools rather than deviate from the pattern without experience you might fail and that is a lot of work to undo.

I've been following this pattern faithfully (but as a beginner knitter, it's taken me a year -- I'm almost done!)...And I've started the V-neck. Your tutorial is VERY helpful, but I wonder what I've done wrong. The first side of the V-neck (following your instructions to the letter) looks like a beautiful edge. Now, the second side of the V-neck (following your instructions) the "border" on the V looks like a single row (whereas the border on the first side looks like a double-row border). Clearly, I've done something wrong. But I can't figure out what. I'm OK with just having a lopsided V-neck border. :-)
@sneha.godse514
@sneha.godse514 Жыл бұрын
The same thing happened to me - it's because the pattern calls for k2tog for both sides of the v-neck. To do the 'double row border' on both sides you need to replace all the k2tog with a ssk on the left side of the 'v'.( there are lots of tutorials for the ssk on yt)

Maybe I’m doing something wrong but in the pattern it doesn’t specify how many rows of stockinette to complete for the body of the jumper? It just says ‘row 9 to (46)48(50,52,54,56,58)- repeat rows 7 and 8. Where should it say how many rows??
@lovecraftscom
@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hi Naoisekeohane, we don't know what size jumper you are making - but those are numbers of the rows - so from row 9 to row 46 (or 48. 50, 52 etc) so you just need to see which size you are making at the top of the pattern to see which one of those numbers is for you - XS S M L XL 2XL 3XL - so just match the number with the size and that gives you the rows - so if you are knitting a L, for example, it would be from 9-52, if you were knitting an XL, it would be from row 9 to row 54. I hope that helps! Kindest knitting wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x

Yes absolutely! You can always experiment with different yarn weights. 🥰You will probably have to adjust the needle size and we would also advise to gauge before you get started, to get the correct measurements. Happy making!🥳

this is the first jumper i'm attempting to knit! i have a question; i hope someone could help! I'm knitting a size XS and im confused about the sleeve part. in the pattern it says CO40 then p and k until row 35. I noticed there are no numbers for XS for shaping the sleeve? does the XS size have any decreasing stitches for the sleeve? thank you!
@lovecraftscom
@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hey there,The numbers in the pattern show which row you would start from, depending on the size you are making, so for a XS you would knit until Row 35 and then start the shaping (which is the same for all sizes) from ROW 36 :) Let us know, if there are any more questions and Happy making!🥰

Loved the video, recently got a knitting kit as a gift and have started to enjoy knitting 🧶!! How many balls of yarn were used in this video? I’m also a XL
@lovecraftscom

Thank you so much for your comment. Depending on your gauge as well as the materials that you use, the amount of yarn you need can vary but if you go by the pattern you would need 14 yarn balls to make the Size XL :) Happy making!

Knitting the second strap and stuck because when I add the new yarn, the stitch that you're supposed to slip for the neckline is detached from the rest of the sweater but it is not in the video and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong 😭

When joining the new yarn you can always make a knot first, so it is easier to keep going.🥰 If you are still stuck, please never hesitate from contacting our team via the helpcentre on our website. We are always super happy to help!

hi! what is the length of the needles? i understand the size is 10 mm but how important is the length for such a project? thank you!
@lovecraftscom
@lovecraftscom 5 ай бұрын
For larger projects such as sweater, we would probably go for 35cm long needles🥰❤️

Hi there with the sleeves on the pattern it says to start with a purl row. I don't understand why. Also on the XL size you are knitting it's 36 rows not 34..I am totally confused is this gonna change the look of my sleeve
@lovecraftscom
@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hey there, As you are starting the sleeve on a wrong side you will start with a purl row and then work in stockinette stitch ( purl on the wrong side and knit on the right side) and yes you are absolutely right for a size XL you would need to knit 36 rows :) Let us know, if there are any more issues and happy making! 🥰

@@lovecraftscom hi, there I improvised on the sleeves the only way I know how since I am still new at doing this type of thing. But the finished product looks great and my almost 2 year old granddaughter can wear it for a couple of winters..she is very impressed and so am I. Thanks so much for taking your time to actually answer all my questions..I loved the tutorial and I wish more people would put tutorials like that on..

I’ve got a question: At 9:17 or so it looks like you took a loop off the left middle right after doing the first pearl stitch. Why did you do that for that for stitch but not for the rest of that first row in the stockinette of pearls?

Hi there, i didn't have the right yarn around or size needles, so i took some scrap yarn which we call in south africa chunky. We cant find many types of yarn so 100% acrylic had to do. I used a 5,5mm needles with your XL pattern..i have knitted the front so far, it is the size of a i would say 5-6 year old..which is nice..but i am a bit worried you have not included in your video on how to do the back and the ribbing for the neck. As a beginner I am very nervous because i have never knitted with round needles. And since this will be a kids jumper how would i structure the sleeves to be just plain. Please can you help me i really dont have a cooking clue

Thanks so much for your comment. The jumper does not have a ribbed neckline or ribbed cuffs, so you can just follow the video step by step to complete it :) Happy making!🧡🥰

@@lovecraftscom thanks...there is another pattern on the PDF file I downloaded a pink and violet one, is that a different jumper or just one with extras...that was what I was wondering..but I really am enjoying this since it will be my first by myself.. I have been following your one so far step by step... I must thank you as well for your response most people just leave their knitters questions hanging. They never answer. Which is rather annoying

Hi !! Do i need to do anything different as a left hander ? Do i use the second v-neck instructions first or do as normal ?
@lovecraftscom
@lovecraftscom Жыл бұрын
Hey there and thank you so much for reaching out. Some left handed makers can also follow instructions shown by a right handed maker, so you could definitely give it a go. 🧡Once you have completed the V-neck shaping, you should move on to the neckline decreases. Let us know if you needed different or more specific info 🥰

Hi Cheryl - absolutely YES you can! Sometimes it's so much easier on your hands when you are knitting something longer to use circulars as if they were straight needles. Kindest knitting wishes from Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx
