You will never know how much I needed to hear you today. I have been beating up myself for wanting to spend time knitting instead of things I think NEED to be done. I’m almost 80 and I say screw it, I’m knitting today..the world will have to wait
@mackenziedesire75157 ай бұрын
Almost 80? I think you've likely racked up years of doing things that (might) need doing instead of hobbies by that age, so you've definitely got at least a few days of "vacation time" for knitting! _Especially_ if you're a parent, pretty sure that means you're due at least a couple solid years of hobby time!

I’m a relatively new fan of your channel. I’m an experienced crocheter just now learning to knit and soaking in all your sock wisdom. (Working on a basic sweater first.) This is my fave episode so far! Besides the motivation to dive into sock knitting, I could relate to soooo much here. I’m also an introvert who volunteered for school events and then dreaded them. One trip ended with me being the only adult in the back of a bus full of hormone laden middle schoolers just waiting for me to doze off so they could start their shenanigans. I was wide awake the entire 4 hour drive till we arrived home at 3 am. Also, I just got my adult braces off in February after 3 years. Those first few weeks were so weird and PAINFUL. I couldn’t imagine eating anything harder than oatmeal ever again, but it gets better and things like eating sandwiches with a knife and fork or swishing out the crumbs with your drink quickly become normal. It was absolutely worth it. Congrats on taking plunge. 😁 Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience, and knitting in real life.
