Your book, The Sock Project, has made all the difference in helping me learn how to knit socks. I am now a sock knitter thanks to you and it feels like having a new super power. Thank you for all of the work you put into the book, into your KZbin channel and into your next book. I look forward to getting your newest book when it comes out in 2025 hopefully. Keep up the great work!

Summer, have you considered collaborating with indie dyer to produce fade kits for shortie socks? I think it would be of interest to a lot of knitters who may not have a large stash of speckled yarns.

1st, those shorties are so cute!!!! I'm working on my 1st shorties, knitting two at a time, and I got to the heel. Tried to try them on and couldn't get them over my heel. 😮😂 So, of course, I had to frog them. I don't know what happened. I tried to swap your twisted rib for a 2x2. Anyway, I cast the first one today. 2nd, try long bangs. I can't stand short bangs either but long bangs I love. Oh, and if you want to grow your bangs fast, massage your scalp. It helps blood flow, which increases keratin (lil cos tip😅). 3rd, your neighborhood looks awesome. Somehow, I imagined you living near a great plain (thumble weed and everything) 😂. Boy, how a person can me so wrong. Thanks for the pattern. I'll use it to ammend my shorties. Thanks so much for all you do. Hope you have a great weekend.

I think the bangs are fun! Totally get the bangs taking over your life lol -- I've had them off and on and it took a long time to find a style that really works for me whether I style them or not. Also, I love seeing all the pops of color in your home! It's so fun without feeling hard to live in. You have such a great eye for color across the board!

Good Morning Summer ... Love your shorty socks - Love all your socks. Thanks for the new pattern. I will put it in your sock book along with the Maize Sock pattern. I just started knitting in the Fall of 2023 so I do not have much stash yarn but I will try to improvise. Love your bangs. I also have wavy curly hair. I dry my hair using a diffuser and basically let it go natural.

Those socks look so cute mismatched together! I gave up knitting one sock at a time because I never went back and made the second socks. I would rather cut off a foot than knit the exact same thing twice in a row, so I had to learn to knit both at the same time using magic loop. :)

I have to tell you-when you posted about your bangs in your stories on your birthday, I thought they looked so cute that I set out to get some of my own. Sadly though, my stylist convinced me that they wouldn’t do my hair any favors since I have cowlick. So my dream of bangs did not come true, but now I’m thinking that might be for the best since you’re regretting yours (but I still think yours look fantastic!).

I love your bangs, but totally understand the frustration with curly hair. I have Shirley Temple tube curls without even trying and that includes my bangs. For years I tried to straighten them to no avail. If it rained or was humid I had little tubes that shortened up. I've been through numerous stylists because they cut my hair the way they think it should be cut , ie bangs that frame the face instead of the way I wanted it trimmed. My hair doesn't do bangs or frame my face, it hangs in curly tubes. I hope your hair grows fast, mine doesn't and every time they cut my bangs shorter than the rest it took forever for it to grow to the same length. That being said, thanks so much for the shorty fade socks. I've been wanting to make some full length faded socks, but will make the shorties first. I am a speckle yarn junkie. Love your vlog, you crack me up and bring a smile to my face every time I watch.

I love these socks and will be making some.🎉 This may sound silly but massaging your head for 5 or more minutes daily in the area of your bangs will encourage faster growth. Your stimulating blood flow which helps hair growth. Hope you try it.

Thanks once again for your time and effort Summer ! I love the neighborhood. I have a thing for the old trees & houses. Agreed that shorty socks are fun and quick! Especially a DK or worsted for around the house. I also have a cowlick in my ‘bang’ area. Ugh the trouble that thing has caused me my whole 65 yrs with certain styles. I just cut all of my off but it’s all getting in my eyes 😢 just got soooooo bored with a top bun everyday. Now I use a shit ton of curling mousse to try to get it out of my face. 😂 Your bangs look good btw. 😊

Just loved thisvideo,Summer, and reviewed your book for faded sock patterns, which yes is next on my list By the way, just recently finally got your book in the mail from Amazon and guess what, decided to go to OfficeMax and have the book “spiraled” … is that a word? Anyway, it makes it so much easier to leave the book open so that I can read the patterns and not have to fight with a book binding, closing the book on me while I’m knitting! I’ve been doing that lately for some purchased paperback books that I use such as cookbooks.

As a person who went from very long hair w/o bangs to very short hair w/ bangs, they take some getting used to...Like you, I truly loved how they looked but I could feel them. Worse, I could see them. So I decided to grow them out. Time came to get my hair again and boy was I surprised to find that by then I'd gotten used to them, and no longer noticed them. That weird part thing happening is real! However, since I'd parted my hair in the center since the mid 60s and it was then the early 80s, the bang hair was refusing to remain unparted. Took a week or so of combing them forward while wet and keeping that way until dry to give in to hanging together. Have had bangs since. See how you feel in 5 or 6 weeks...Besides, love being able to see your beautiful face/eyes with your new banged, contact lens face. Quite beautiful you are! Off to choose yarn for shortie socks!

I've had bangs (and bangret!) The good thing is you can pull them back and pin them up at nearly any length, so if you hate yhe feeling of hair on your you can definitely change it right away. As for socks...this is my year of socks (though I started late) but I'm determined to get it down, hence I'll be buying your book and thanks for the pattern in the description... it'll help while I wait for the book to arrive 😁

You should look up how to do a simple twist braid, when I wanted my bangs to be just over, I'd make the tiniest twist braid with them to the side and pin them back that way. Looks cute and gets "rid" of the bangs for the day. 💚 You're creativity is beautiful and inspiring, thank you for sharing!!

I would totally just mix and match those 3 shorties together as "pairs" to wear. If later you make coordinated "pairs" super, and if not--still cute and functional! I did the same at about early 40s and got Invisalign to straighten my teeth and this last year did "bangs." Still rolling with the bangs but trying different lengths, angling, etc. Good luck and I hope they treat you well! (Your eyes look amazing with contacts--thought I love the glasses frames you have!)

Summer, your comments and videos re so funny and insightful! Wow you went la bang bang on us! My little sister is famous for bangret one-day she hated how short she cut her bangs that she ordered real hair bangs online, that cost a pretty penny, and they were too long so she "trimmed" then and when she went to attach the m to get head/hair she realized she cut them the same length as her real bangs we laughed so hard and so she waits...

Summer, I'm really loving the podcast and am already enjoying flipping through your book! It's so beautiful and so much fun! I know you've mentioned that limiting friction on the socks helps prolong their lives. I was wondering though if certain heels are likely to last longer and/or if certain yarn types and or weight do better than others? I try to make sure I don't walk barefoot in them when I'm at home, but I'm wearing them enough that I'm already starting to see holes in some that are only a couple of months old; so I'm just trying to figure out if there's other preventative/strategic options I can also do. Thank you...
