I love the fact you actually showed me the holes before they were locked. I don't know if I have ever seen anyone else show this. Very informative video. It was very helpful in helping me understand intarsia. Clear and concise! Thank you for sharing!

I have searched and searched and searched for a video that could easily explain Intarsia for me. I'm an advid knitter and it just wasn't clicking on for me...so thank god I stumbled across this video! Wonderful instructions, simple and easy, and your voice is so soothing I could fall asleep to it! Thank you.

Knitting intarsia proved to be a monumental challenge for me. I tore apart a very small pocket with an intarsia flower design at least a dozen times before I found this video. Your directions are beautifully simple, effective and I have a pocket! Finally.

So clear - even I can hopefully not muck up my first foray into intarsia which I have been avoiding like the plague, but you have dispelled the "myth" around it - thank you so much!

This is a wonderful video!!! So clear. When I change colors, I hear myself say, "needle in and then sort out your colors", although without the lovely accent! Thanks!

Hi again Ruth, this knitting lark has me completely addicted and I would really like to learn more and more techniques and understand how patterns form etc, though I know I am some way from that.I wonder if you can advise where in the UK I might learn these skills on a more serious basis than a few day courses- that are never quite satisfying enough or are hideously expensive. Any ideas for someone who wants to advance their skill set? Thanks in advance.
@chilibeans6612 жыл бұрын
Do you always cross the yarn over regardless of which direction the pattern is going? Meaning, if it's a straight line, a right diagonal, or a left diagonal? I remember reading that depending on which way the lines are going in the patter depends on how you cross the colors.

I wanted to to a four colored pattern I made, but it is complicated and involves a lot of color changes. If I tried to make it in intarsia, I can see myself ending up with over a dozen confusing hanging ends. Is there another method you'd recommend, or should I get used to such a mess? Also, if one does not use a large enough ball of yarn for a color and it runs out, how should one go about adding more yarn?

Thank you.. this helps but could you explain how to extend one color stitches when purl like you did with the third row of red? Since the pattern im trying to do has me expanding one color out bith sides the slowly goes back to my color

On the purl side i noticed you wrapped the red yarn around the needle twice on the 1st red purl stitch. Why? Sept I'll be knitting a year and I've learned there are always reasons when Why an experinced knitter does something a certain way.

v nice! now how do i close a gap when i discontinue a color completely, say i finish a row in white, and then start a new row knitting a circular mitten, to red? I've been folding over the tail of the red and knitting double for a couple of rows along w the new color, but leaving the white behind decreases the tension leaving a hole. any recommendations? leaving both the tail of the discontinued white & also the red made it worse and i keep getting a ladder. : ( help please! anyone knowledgeable
