Perfect!! No problem. Not 15:00 min video!! Short and to the point. Thank you. You are a life saver

I've found that if you knit one more row and then continue to knit the ribbing that it has a nice rolled touch on the edge which looks very nice. I make the side that has the 2 knitted rows be the right side of the fabric. I used to have knitting machines and this is basically the same technique that I used on the machine. I just couldn't figure out how to do it when hand-knitting. Thank-you so very much! I love it!

This is the best and clearest cast on for rib that I have found. I hope you have other videos! Thank you elsteffo :)

Thank you so much...I life saver you are. Until now I hated ribbing because it always looked so 'untidy' in the finished product. Now the item has a 'polished' look and feel...Kudos...:)

Wow, thank you! I know this is an old video but I'm very new at knitting, teaching myself and have been using the long-tail cast on because it's so very easy. I'm reading a pattern chart and took about an hour to figure out why I couldn't cable cast on... this helped me so very much thank you! 💕

Excellent instruction! If I hadn't done so much already, I'd redo my current project this way.

Ahhh much better than other videos I have watched trying to get the hang of this cast on. Even though you worked faster it is so much clearer and easier.

This is an awesome cast on. I tried it and loved how it looks, but now i don't know how to cast off where it looks similar to this cast on. How do you cast off when you use this cast on method?

if doing a scarf, I would want the cast off end to look the same. Do you have a cast off technique that would accomplish this?

Hi there, thanks for your question. I'm not quite sure what you mean, so I'll take a guess that you would like to know how to make the next row of knitting, which moves the stitches from the left-hand needle to the right-hand one. I have some videos about making the knit stitch and the purl stitch that you can have a look at for some more help. If you still don't find what you're looking for, then please write again and I'll do my best to help. Happy knitting!

Sure, most cast on methods will be fine for ribbing. The advantage of using this cast on method with ribbing is that the cast on edge is somewhat camouflaged.

would this sort of cast-on, say on the edge of a scarf, prevent the work from curling onto/into itself???

@one2557 sorry to bother you but did you ever find out about the bind off method when using this cast on one :o lol

Not at all! This is just one of the many cast on methods available. This particular cast on is used for the beginning of ribbed fabrics.
