Ha ha...last comment 9 years ago?! I so agree with last comment THANK YOU!! I was also completely losing my mind thinking there was no way to do a purl after a knit without creating an extra stitch when you drop. Goshdangit!!! Ha ha...made my day!!!

This is the fastest way to knit. I was taught this hold by a couple of senior English women. Interestingly, I have never meet someone who knits this way

I have been knitting for thirty years and never had a pattern which called for a cable cast on. This video was exactly what I need to understand what it is and how to do it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your knowledge.

When holding like this, how on earth do so solve it when there is a bunch more stitches on the right needle and also a long knitted part hanging down. Where do you put your hand if all that knitted is in your hand? With a small piece like that, sure it works. But very seldom are all we do that small.

That is a different way of doing helical stripes from the one I have used. Very interesting, because I now see how to create stripes with more than two colours. Thank you.

Although I have been knitting for over 75 years I still like to see how others manage. I have watched how to join wool the Russian way rather than splicing and how to get jogless stripes when knitting on four needles or a circular. This is the first time I have seen anyone holding yarn and needles the same as me. Some wrap yarn around the right hand several times which then means it has to be repeated after every four or five stitches. The method here means you don't have to take your right hand off the needle until the end of the row - tension is controlled with the fingers. Thank you. Here was me thinking I was the odd one out!!

What happens when you have 200 sts on the needle? How do you cram those stitches inside that area to the right of the thumb?

Thank you. Thats a lot easier looking than the written directions suggest. 😊❤

Love love love this! I’ve cast on two right away. I have two questions: is it a good idea to go up in needle size? And how do you decrease? Gradually? Or k2tog the last few rows?

Your channel helped me learn to knit about 10 years ago. I'm using blue yarn and it reminded me of your videos. Thanks for the lessons!

Found the video useful but had two lines of tight stitches because I changed colour at the same end point every row. So I ditched the markers and altered the start of every colour, I slipped the last two stitches before the change of the next colour then picked up the new colour and continued knitting. Lost the tight or loose stitches and everything is smooth a d lovely! Hope you can understand this and others find it a help.

This looks relatively easy while you have very few rows on your needle(s), but how does it work when you already have many rows or rounds on your needles?

This is my exact question. I'd like to know how to knit holding the needle under hand when I'm knitting a scarf. I'm not understanding that part. It does look more relaxed on the hand, fingers and wrist though.

Works great for single stripes. If you want wider stripes then you need a separate ball for each round even if it’s the same color.
