Your socks are beautiful. I’m working on my second sock of my very first pair ever. Definitely saving this for a pair for mom for Christmas.

Great tutorial! I’ve never done gusset increases with a short row heel and this video explains the process very well. Thanks so much!🧶💜

Thank you for your pattern! I can't knit yet but used to crochet all the time. I've used your patterns before and they always turn out nicely 😊 happy solstice! (Hyvää juhannusta)!)

The only way I make socks!

Oh and I always make 2 at a time.

Two circulars is my favorite way too!

Always knit 2-at-a-time socks on magic loop. May have to try this method out. Do you foresee any issues with 2 different brands of needles?
@NerdyKnitting7 ай бұрын
No - I've used two different needle brands before and it was completely fine. It's actually a little easier if they look different because you can tell them apart!
@valeriehowden4717 ай бұрын
@NerdyKnitting good to know! My needles are really different - one set is Takumi bamboo other is Kollage Square.

What is the benefit of this vs magic loop? For some reason I thought you were going to knit two at a time but that was clearly my sleepy pre coffee brain this morning 😅
@NerdyKnitting7 ай бұрын
This feels like less adjusting compared to magic loop - which is weird since there are two sets of needles instead of one! And I find that I am less likely to get ladders with this method (something I often have trouble with when I use magic loop). You could definitely do two at a time using two circulars as well.

@@NerdyKnitting Thank you! I wondered if this would feel less crammed knitting two than on ML, though I’ve yet to try that with any method. The set up seems daunting but finishing both socks at once sounds so nice!
@maryfrank21757 ай бұрын
@@amagicalgirlknits Maybe on ML you need more cord length if you're feeling cramped? I don't seem to have that problem with it, nor have I ever experienced a ladder using ML - but I hold my front & back pretty close as she shows in the video too - so that may be helping. (It's recommended when learning and in the docs.)

@@maryfrank2175 I don’t feel cramped knitting one sock, I haven’t yet tried two

This is my favorite way to make socks. I got five 12 inch chiagoo circulars to make my socks two at a time, but i'm finding i don't like the bend in them. I'll probably go back to 16 inch ones again.
@maryfrank21757 ай бұрын
Bend? Oh - you must have the very old version of their needles! They no longer have the bent ones - any new ones ordered will more than likely be the straight needles. It's all we can get (for several years now) in the USA. HTH.
@deyaneria7 ай бұрын
@@maryfrank2175 That's strange. They were recent purchase for mother's day (US as well but i ordered online as there are no LYS within an hour of me). They were to replace my knitpicks fixed size one circulars that broke. I'm still trying to get used to them because i didn't plan to buy another sock set for myself so soon.

My problem with 16" circular needles is that the needles are not full (6") length. For someone with large hands this can be a problem. I always use 2 24" circular needles as my preferred method of working socks.
@maryfrank21757 ай бұрын
That's my problem - and not only that, but it appears so "fiddley" to me...and I use ML! People say ML is too fiddley, but I find it's pretty straight forward and not confusing as to needles, bulk, ladders, turning, grabbing the right one, etc. However, I like trying ALL methods new to me, so I'll try it with 2 circs and see how it works in practice. Sometimes that's very different than how it may appear! I appreciate seeing how it works, in great detail! Nice pattern too.
