This is the best knitting tutorial ever! I’ve never knitted anything other than flat on 2 needs, let alone a sock!! Excellent thank you!

Great tutorial, Maggie! I think this will be the best one for a beginner like me 😊 I have a question regarding colour changes: if I want to do the entire stocking in one colour (red) and the top (which I will fold at the end), heel and tip in another (green), at what lines should I change the yarn?
@kimhatta-kn2sx Жыл бұрын
Hi Maggie, Great tutorial for us beginners! Do you have the written pattern available? I’d also like to know how to change the color for the heel, toe and top (fold down). Thank you so much!

This was my first time ever following a video tutorial and it was so well done! Easy to follow and great visuals, THANK YOU! I made my son’s first stocking with this pattern❤ I do have a question though, I ended up with some holes in the heel. I think when we picked up 5 stitches. What are your tips/tricks to avoiding this issue and making each side look more symmetrical when picking up stitches?
@SimplyMaggieblog10 ай бұрын
Thick yarn and evenly spacing the picked up stitches definitely helps. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I just had to stop bc I ran out of 87 yards following her directions. 😑
@OldestOf132 жыл бұрын
@2supermurakoshi what yarn are you using, if you don't mind sharing? I am going to make these using the same yarn (Premier Sofie) which is 93 yards per ball... I bought extra just in case. But I am gonna weigh it and figure out the exact yardage used and post back here next week!

I’m just finished my second one.. I love this pattern.. but I have a question. On the part where you are picking up stitches on the side of heel.., I am getting gaps.. do you think it would work to knit two together instead of skipping two? Would that change the outcome of shape? I’m very new to knitting. In fact I’ve only ever knitted kitchen towels.. thank you so much for this video.

I encountered this same issue and am wondering what the solution is cause I’d love to make another without the gaps. I did end up just seeing the gaps together
@carriejohnson99882 жыл бұрын
Does it matter which stiches you add the 5 stitches on? I noticed you added them on every other stich for the first 5, but for the second set of 5 it looked as though you skipped more than one stitch

Can this stocking be made using straight needles
@tatertime Жыл бұрын
Yes, you would need to use around 5 of them to simulate the round

Hi Maggie! Thanks so much for walking through this! Beginner’s question- will i run into any issues if I double the size of the stocking?

You said US 15 (10mm) circular needles - but I didn't hear you mention how LONG they should be? Thanks!
@angelogomez711411 күн бұрын
She’s using 16in long needles. She says it in passing at 2:10

Hello there! I want to thank you for this amazing pattern and for sharing it step by step! I do have a question about row 77….at the end of the row I was left with one stick and it said stick 2 together. Did I miss something? Thank you again for sharing it!

I liked this pattern but had some serious issues after picking up stitches. There were holes and the switch from purl to knit back to knit only after the heel made it confusing and I kept having to redo rows because the wrong side was showing where it shouldn’t be

It was great practice but I think I’m going to frog this project and try again

what size needles lol 16"???
@AM-ow3gn22 күн бұрын
16" is not so much about the needle size but refers to the cable length of the circular knitting needles she is using. Circular needles get their length from needles tip to tip, so she can knit a stocking which is roughly 16" circumference (or 8" diameter). She says at 0:35 that she is using US 15 needles which are 10mm.

You didn't say how many stitches were left on needles as you knitted around.
