What an excellent tutorial and so well explained Emily. I think a beginner would be able to follow you so easily and feel a great accomplishment too. I would recommend them to purchase your pattern as well. It would be easy for them to travel with their new project and show off as well. What a great way to encourage new knitters to our huge community. I suggest all LYS to select yarns and post it on their instagram about your tutorial for this courage cowl. Bravo

Also thank you for showing the process of completing the bind off. Of all the many years of knitting no one ever showed me the “proper” way to work this process. Kudos to you🙏

Love the pattern and a perfect fit of the cowl (stays close to the neck and can even be extended up to the ears for walks on cold and windy days). I noticed in one of your earlier replies that you were working on a tutorial for a slouchy with the same pattern. It would be wonderful to have a matching set of a cowl and a slouchy. Any chance you post it before spring this year?

This is so pretty! I was wondering what the multiple is if I want to make it a little larger? This will be the perfect Christmas gift for my sisters (and me too!). Great tutorial too. I noticed in your playlist you have tutorials for socks!!! After Christmas I plan to try knitting socks using your tutorial! Have you ever knitted socks with 9" circular needles? I recently bought a set of Knitters Pride fixed 9" sock needles in different sizes. I'd love to use them!
@TheBlueMouseKnits
@TheBlueMouseKnits Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! If you want to make the cowl wider add stitches in multiples of 6 :) You should totally try socks, they are a blast to make and a lot easier than they look! I tried knitting socks on 9" once, the tiny circumference made my hands cramp up a ton so I never went back to it. But I also have really large hands lol, so I think it works for a lot of other people. You could probably follow the tutorial with your 9" circs if you use magic loop method for the heel flap/gusset.

@@TheBlueMouseKnits Thanks so much for getting back so quick for the multiples. And after Christmas I'm definitely going to follow along on your sock tutorials. I've got so much beautiful sock yarn I've bought through the years just begging to be made into socks!😘🧦 Thanks again and I'll get busy making cowls for Christmas!

Thank you for this tutorial! It’s a gorgeous piece! I’m working on mine now and realized I made a mistake. I’ve frogged back to the SL3, K3 row but I can’t seem to figure out how to frog this row. Can anyone shed some light on how I should be approaching this? Thanks in advance!🧶😊
@TheBlueMouseKnits
@TheBlueMouseKnits Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! You’re currently at the end of a finished SL3, K3 row trying to frog it? I believe you’ll want to bring the yarn to the front of your work when slipping the stitches (they can just be slipped from the right needle to the left) and if you move the yarn to the front before slipping them then the strand that was held in front will be loose and back to normal. And then you can frog the knit stitches as normal. I hope that makes sense, it’s kind of hard to explain in writing
@yiskapaws6916
@yiskapaws6916 Жыл бұрын
@@TheBlueMouseKnits that made perfect sense and I realized the issue was that I needed to frog one more row and then I could easily slip the three and collect the loose yarn. The yarn I’m using makes finding stitches a bit tricky at times😅 thanks so much for your response, giving your attention and the helpful advice! It’s greatly appreciated!☺️💙 wishing you and yours happy holidays and a blessed Yuletide❤️🤍💚🎄

If I want to make this longer what's the cast on number?
@TheBlueMouseKnits
@TheBlueMouseKnits Жыл бұрын
If you want to make it wider add more stitches in multiples of 6. And if you want to make it longer work more repeats of the 12 stitch pattern rounds. Hope that answers your question ❤️
