I’m just at the bottom ribbing part adding up the number of stitches I need to pick up and I notice you added up 16+36+16+36 to 118. When I count it’s 104 or am I missing something? 😅 Otherwise the pattern is great ☺️

Just got to this - you’re right, I did the maths wrong in the video. The equation is right (work out two thirds of your total number of rows and add the 28 stitches from the back panel) but I made a mistake with the arithmetic! Thanks so much for pointing it out, I will pin this comment and also take it into account when writing up the pattern for testing eventually! If you follow the actual numbers I give in the written pattern (108 stitches - 40 along one side, then 28 on the back, then 40 along the other side) you’ll get the same result as me!

Hello✨ I am following this tutorial as my first serious knitting project. I just finished the main body, currently working on the ribbing. Thank you very much for it and your dedication to explaining the process. I hope mine comes out really cute. I am doing it in red. Hugs from Costa Rica🐞

Do itttt! I do think the thicker ribbing and neutral colour (ie. not a colour with the literal word “baby” in front of it) helps the white version look a little more adult. I love both version! 🐣🍼🎀

Currently continuing the main body, it's going pretty well! This is my first ever 'proper' knitting project (other than scarves) and I'm excited to see how it turns out :) I found picking up the stitches the hardest bit so far, really really fiddly... might be because my wool's a little thin? Thanks for such a great tutorial!!

I am stuck now at 24:17 where you are picking up stitches. Maybe I did something wrong with the stockinette stitches but my edges look loose and all over the place for the purl stitch side and I am not seeing where I should insert the needle to pick up stitches 😮💨 i was thinking of cleaning up the edges by slipping the first stitch on the knit side and for the purl side slipping the first one and knitting the last one of the row. I read that this way one gets cleaner edges. Do you think that works? :) Thank you so much for this tutorial! It will take some time for me to finish this but I am really enjoying the process :D P.S.: Sorry for my English! Writing from Germany

First knitting project! When you pick up the first 40sts, then put the needle through the 16 that are on hold, how do you keep the working yarn going through the 16 ?

Hi! I have a question about when you pick up stitches. In the video description you say to pick up from the right side of your work (when looking at the correct side) but in the video you start from the left side. Does it just not matter from which bottom end you start? I hope my phrasing makes sense haha

Hi! lovely tutorial. I am just a little confused at one of the steps. Correct me if I'm wrong (I am not a very experienced knitter) but when you start to pick up stitches, your explanation in the description box says 'With the right side of the work facing you, begin at the bottom right corner of the work'. But in the video it looks like you are beginning at the left bottom... Does it make any difference?
@fraukelemaire3124Ай бұрын
ok, looking at the next step in the video, it seems like you did start at the right bottom corner... i am really confused
@CinemaKnits16 күн бұрын
@@fraukelemaire3124 pick up stitches in whichever way works for you - if you go right to left you’ll be starting on a ws row, if you go left to right you’ll be starting on a rs row - apart from that it doesn’t make a difference.

I'm going to measure it with a ruler and make it!
@CinemaKnits16 күн бұрын
@@hyon861 did you meet gauge when you gauge swatched? If so you should be fine! The back panel should not be hat-sized - it’s just the back panel of the whole bonnet, you build out the rest of the bonnet afterward :)
@hyon86116 күн бұрын
@@CinemaKnits Thank you for your reply. The exact same yarn is not sold in Japan, so I knitted it with yarn with a slightly different gauge. Therefore, I would like to measure the width and height of the back panel with a measure(ruler).Can you measure the size (width and height) of the back panel only?🥹
@CinemaKnits16 күн бұрын
@ I can’t, apologies, I am travelling, but I do talk about measurements in the video. If your gauge is different the whole pattern is going to be different - you don’t need to use the same yarn, just a dk weight yarn and whichever needle works to get roughly the same gauge ❤️
