How to Knit Top Down SYMMETRICAL SLEEVES with Magic Loop.

How to avoid having two different sleeves due to gauge fluctuations and always knit them perfectly symmetrical. How to knit two sleeves at the same time/together using one circular needle and magic loop technique. Top down sweater knitting in the round.

Wow, I have to try this! 😃 I tend to procrastinate knitting sleeves because with the "normal" method I'll usually end up unravelling and redoing parts of them several times to get the tension more symmetrical... so all the sweaters piled up in my ufo box want to thank you for this video (and so do I, of course)! 😄🙏

It works for any couple of sleeves regardless of the body construction (raglan, round yoke, etc.). Once you separate the sleeves from the body, you transfer both of them on one circular needle and can knit both at the same time.

Hello! Thank you for watching my videos! I think the algorithm can vary depending on the shape of the sleeves in a pattern. But in general, for a regular "straight" sleeve, I measure the width at the widest point and at the wrist - so I know how many stitches to decrease. And then spread the decreases evenly throughout the length of the sleeve, decreasing two at a time. I usually leave 2 regular stitches between the decreases, and decrease symmetrically (i.e. k2tog and ssk). You can decrease more frequently during the first 5-10cm to create a curve near the underarm. You can also stop after passing the elbow and continue straight, if the desired width is reached.

I think it was 100 cm (40") including the tips (tips were "shorts" 10 cm/4 in).
