Glad your enjoying the videos. If you cut this out with card stock and have all the letters cut out individually the card stock may snag if your text is too small. If you want the image printed on card stock and then have your machine cut around the whole image you will first need to create an offset behind your image. I made my 1st knockout text by following this simple instructions. I was wondering though, how would I cut this in 2 different vinyl colors? Thank you so much.

That’s great! To cut in two different colours don’t attach the “mom” layer with the “name” layer. Change each layer to a different colour. Each colour will cut out on a separate mat. Weed your vinyl and then layer the “name” layer on top of the “mom” layer. Have fun!

Yeah! I’m so glad! Great question. Go to “contour” (bottom right corner) and click the pieces you don’t want in your image.

I have both layers selected. I am missing something. What needs to be grouped

Sorry you’re having difficulty. Nothing needs to be grouped, just 2 layers selected. 1. Type out Mom 2. Type out Names in one text box 3. Create an offset for Names 4. Move names aside and center offset layer on Mom layer. 5. Select Mom Layer & Offset Layer and press “slice” 6. Delete offset and sliced layers 7. Line up Name Layer with Mom Layer If it’s still not working log out of Design Space and maybe try again. Feel free to craft along with the video and pause when needed. I hope you can get it to work. Slice is only available when 2 layers are selected. Check the layers panel to make sure you have both the offset and the “mom” layer selected. I hope this helps.

I wish there was a way to make the large name 1 color, the names in another color and the hearts in red. If it can, please share

@theresapalino4769 Yes you can do that! Just select a different colour and don’t attach or weld your middle text with the outer text. Each colour will cut out on a separate mat and then you would layer your vinyl pieces together. If you wanted the middle hearts a different colour than the names, detach your text (top right hand corner) and then change your colours. Make sure you either weld or unite the rest of your letters back together so they cut out together. Happy crafting!
