The 3 cornerstone to a healthy relationship by Jordan Peterson: 1. You must be attracted to the person. 2. You must have reasonable measure of trust for that person. 3. You must be willing to negotiate through your differences continually. Our own: 4. You must have a measure of respect for the person you in a relationship with. 5. Your happiness is not up to them and there happiness is not up to you. Happiness is a conscious and personal choice. Good luck in your relationship.

You got me out of depression, I would listen to these videos constantly couple years ago. Now I keep checking if you uploaded anything new. I don't really listen or watch a lot anymore, but this definitely helped, I actually wrote phrases on my bedroom walls that I got from these videos. Thanks for your support and I hope you are doing well. To give a little more detail before I go: I was suicidal, lost my girl, my job, my career, my friends, my place and had to go back to my parents house at 27. I'm 30 now with a really nice job and recieving more offers, studying programming, can save money every month, I'm on the carnivore diet, lost 16 pounds in 14 days, no acne anymore, not body pain anymore, lean and healthy again, got my friends back and I've been dating a girl for the past 6 months. :) By the way, depression is gone.

Interesting video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.

Even though I enjoy like 90% of Dr Petersons work, I disagree with him on the allegation that you should look for someone who has similar personality traits. At least I would say, that it is absolutely correct. I think you need a person that imbalances your weaknesses whereas you have to imbalance your partner's weaknesses in a relationship, so you are complementary to each other and create a whole together. I think there can't be common developement in a marriage if your partner can't show you things you do not know yet.

Fair, I do think the part where he’s like if you’re a person with a high level of neuroticism than you should seek someone with a low level, is questionable. And I was in my car listening to it, saying NOOOO, don’t do that to them, take the hit or fix it- don’t drag someone else down with your constant desire to see negativity and force them to constantly listen to you venting and complaining. That’s exhausting, unfair, and enough to put someone else, who’s generally at peace, into a depression or 24/7 high stress environment depending on how neurotic the other person is.

Phillip Brown, collaboration and delegation go hand and hand. This Video assumes there are only two people in this relationship. This is the type of relationship I prefer. The person delegating will need to collaborate on occasions to become keenly aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the other person. Only delegating yields the "you always", and the "you never" phraseology, and is clearly not informed. In your relationship you will encounter an issue that is bigger than the both of you. In that moment, you will need someone that is willing to negotiate for a equitable solution. Negotiation in good faith requires both of you to leave your egos at the door. If egos are abandon at the door, you will discover common ground.

Thanks for honoring freedom of speech. Women who have been married to serial killers for years had no idea what was going on behind their backs in their husband's private lives. All a person can do ... is HOPE for the best ... and not be surprised when the partner you thought was wonderful ... lets you down ... or when you let your partner down. Life is full of illusions and disappointments ... and it doesn't always happen just to other people.

its funny i found watching this. im a gamer who has a significant other of 17 years (i live with him full time). when im playing games mostly MMO's (right now FFXIV) i will find one gamer i can hang out with do content with and then spend "personal" time with (chatting, ERPing etc). i have done this with 3 men so far. but recently i have found this one gentleman (hes a real life BDSM dominant) that tickles all he parts of me to the point i would love to have him as another real life partner (not just an "in game" one). i started to talk/ERP with him and i wasnt remotely attracted to his toon/character/in game avatar (whatever you want to call it). he was a blonde bombshell that was a pure himbo, as the more i spoke to him and got to know him the more i wanted to be close to him in a relationship way. and now i cant see my life with out him. ive had these type of attractions to ppl before but as long as i never met them my "in real life" partner was fine with it.

I wanted to ask, is it really possible to bridge that gap of intimacy with a romantic couple that isn’t very compatible personality wise if they tried? I asked the man I recently started a relationship with if he believed we would be close friends if we didn’t have a romantic relationship. He said he gets along well with all different types of people (he’s very extroverted), so he said we could be friends but not close friends. I asked him to elaborate on that, because I thought having that type of intimacy with your partner, being close life partners/friends, was critical in a relationship for me. I told him that was the reason why I was asking. I don’t feel like he likes my personality, seems like he isn’t too interested in the things I have to say, my opinion. My hobbies, my conversations. This really upset him, and he felt bad for making me feel like that and started to cry. He said it was his fault for not trying to get to know me more, and said he would do better. I told him that was precisely what I wanted to avoid, having a forced relationship where one or both of each other feigns interest in the other. If you have to will yourself to want to follow certain conversations, engage in similar hobbies, ask follow up questions, show interest, then maybe the relationship isn’t for you. These things should come naturally as a by-product of spending time with someone you really like. He said we could build on this, but I’m doubtful because this really is the baseline for having any type of intimate relationship with someone. What’s funny is that we have the 3 key things Peterson states: attraction, trust, and negotiation. We trust each other, are attracted to each other, and do our best to see each other’s point of view. Heavy on the last one. I would like to get your thoughts about working on liking each other’s personality - is it possible to work on becoming close as friends or is this the very base of a relationship?

SOUL MATES are NOT who we decide to join ourselves to, but about who God decides to join you to. Yes, we have freedom of choice to choose who we join ourselves to, as does God also have freedom to choose who he chooses to join together as one. The difference is people say everything on the topic and are NOT ABLE to PROVE that the one they chose is ones soulmate, UNLESS one is given knowledge from God, as to where God IS ABLE to PROVE IT through Declaring THEIR END from THEIR BEGINNING. In Marriage through the children (blessings) given them by God, is the WHOLE BODY fitly JOINED TOGETHER and compacted by that which EVERY JOINT supplieth, according to the effectual working in THE MEASURE of EVERY PART, MAKETH INCREASE of THE BODY unto the EDIFYING of ITSELF in LOVE. The Creator tells his creation HOW this process happens. He is the Absolute Authority of Absolute Truth in which ALL THINGS he does. In your PATIENCE possess ye your Souls. Receiving THE END of your FAITH, even the SALVATION of your Souls.
