Wow! This video made me cry! I am 61 and have many regrets! I’ve made so many wrong decisions in my life because I didn’t seek the Lord’s will first. Thank you for saying that God’s got me, despite what I think I’ve done wrong; in spite of my mistakes. He’s still in control and there’s nothing I can do to destroy His plan! I'm in the same boat, so to speak. Seeking God's wisdom and direction throughout 2022 on a specific matter. I think that part of our relationship with God is that we are meant to move God. For us to share ourselves with him and allow him to be moved into action thru our relationship with Him. I love how you, Christian Madman, placed an exclamation point after the word crying! We're not supposed to do it all on our own, else how would others see God working in our lives. Keep allowing God to work on our issues; he renews his subscription daily and we in turn have a responsibilty to share ourselves with him. And give him the opportunity to perform a miracle in our lives.

By God's grace and provision, my wife and I are debt-free with respect to our college degrees. Needing prayer for balance with work and family life. Moving from wife working full-time down to part-time with eventual goal of her staying at home over the next 6 months or so. On the flip-side of that, me also being present in my family's life and faithful to the church while working 60+ hours/week to try and start/grow my own business and the relational dynamics that come along with that. I’ve been looking at going to become a chapel in it’s been on my heart for a few years but I’m scared of the schooling I struggle in school and writing not good. I found a online college out of Ontario that seems to stand out. Being a farm wife in Alberta finances tight ,praying God opens doors that don’t take from the farm. I think people are sometimes confused or frustrated thinking their "calling" is some future thing at some future time -- something better or greater or more important than what they're doing now. Your calling is whatever is in your life right now, whatever is before you. Maybe it's being home with kids, maybe it's caring for elderly parents, maybe it's a job you don't like but none of it is a mistake or outside of God's sovereignty. He's placed you *there*, for now, to do the next thing (as Elisabeth Elliot says) as unto the Lord. Perhaps we get sidetracked when we think our calling is this *one specific thing* we're to do and not, instead, the things set before us right now, however large or small. If our calling really is this one thing, it's easy for many of us to feel we missed it or that we're displeasing God because we're not on that one single path he's set for us. Do what's before you as unto the Lord. Just my take.

I know about the college deal and wanting to study the bible without breaking the bank. I found christian leaders Institute several years ago online. Now I am in the degree program on the college side. Financially for me but also spiritually speaking, it was the right call. I've learned that "I feel this is Gods will for you" is a common term used by well meaning believers even the Christian colleges. Im from a pentecostal background so I've learned how this term has rushed us to make anxious decisions without really taking the time to pray and seek the Lord. Ive made those anxious decisions myself without really praying on it and learned the hard way lol.

Thanks for sharing your story, Faith. It's amazing that God provided the financial resources you needed to pay your college bills. If I knew you back in high school, I probably would have told you that you were crazy for enrolling at a college without the finances sorted out, but I would have been completely wrong. Your story reminds me of Jesus sending out the Twelve Apostles and telling them to pack light (Matthew 10:5-15, Mark 6:7-13, Luke 9:1-6). They were to completely rely on God to provide lodging for them. I don't know if I would have trusted Jesus if I were one of the apostles. I probably would have said, "But can't I take one little suitcase along?" The apostles tended to mess things up for Jesus, but by God's grace they managed to really succeed when Jesus sent them and they cast out demons and healed the sick.

I desperately needed to hear this - thank you so much! I found your channel through wrestling with the scriptures on female leadership in the church. Anyway, I am a children's and families minister, getting married next year. My fiancée and I are both passionate to serve the Lord, me especially with families, her with young people as a teacher. Having prayed through what to do post-marriage A LOT, we have decided to both move roles and go elsewhere. I've been working in a small church near London, UK, as my first job post theological college and have loved every moment of it. It's been difficult knowing that I need to step down from the role. Now that it comes to making the next decision as to where to go next, neither of us know where in the country is best, and plenty of churches are looking for experienced trained youth and children's workers. I would really appreciate your prayers first of all for our marriage that we would continue in faith to trust the Lord in everything and that secondly God would open doors for us. People make God’s will way too complicated. The question about God’s will for my life is more or less an American evangelical 20th century phenomenon. The Bible is almost silent on Gods circumstantial will for your life. Do what you want because wherever you are, God is there.

That's a refreshing alternate view. I know when I choose a college at the time I thought God didn't really care which one I went to. I think God ended up using the college I finally enrolled at to shape me though. God blessed me with a hall full of friendly, outgoing freshmen and later challenged me with some courses that I really struggled with.

At about the 6 minute mark you mention Job and him "earning" something with his righteousness. Whew. How many times do we expect something from God because we feel we have "earned" it because of our righteousness?! That hit home. We pursue righteousness and then forget that we are justified by Christ's righteousness and that all of ours are filthy rags. We never earn anything on our own but wrath. God is merciful and gracious and gives generously as He sees fit. Every good gift is from God but not because we earned it.

I started college the fall after my senior year to become a teacher and I had to transfer schools because I couldn’t pay for the next semester. I tried to go a second semester online and I just found out that I will not be able to get any financial help for college. I feel totally lost I lived most of my life with this plan that I was going to go to college and be a teacher.
